“Why Did Only The Wise Men See The Star?”
For over 2,000 years the details about “this star” has baffled scholars, bewildered astronomers and simply intrigued believers.
In Matthew 2:1-2 we given the following details, “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.”
While many believers hold to the theory that the “star” was not a natural phenomenon at all, but rather was a special star or light placed by God in the atmosphere for the Magi to see, they were the only ones truly interested in seeking Him and God always reveals Himself to those who earnestly seek and are hungry for Him.
Then and then only will people begin to envision what others can’t see, don’t want to see, are too busy to see or just aren’t interested in seeing.
Continuing in the story, King Herod immediately summoned the priests and scribes and demanded information pertaining to this. They provided the answer and even gave the location out of the Old Testament scrolls, but notice: No one else was interested enough or concerned at all to go with the wise men to find Jesus and worship Him.
Once the wise men and their entourage left Jerusalem, or came out from the place of unbelief and darkness, they were filled with exceeding joy when the star re-appeared and directed them to the baby Jesus, where they worshipped Him and gave Him gifts.
Then they departed into their own country another way. Not only does this make reference to them taking another route home, but it spiritually makes reference to the great change in a person’s life after they’ve come to Christ and worshipped Him. From that point onwards, you’ll life too should never be the same.
Today, wise men are still seeking after Him, Are You One Of Them?
