Are You Telling The Mountains Around You How Big Your God Is?

In Mark 11:23 NIV Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

The literal translation of Jesus’ words in verse 22 is to have “the faith of God” or “the God kind of faith.”

This does NOT mean for a believer to just go around haphazardly or whimsically and start naming and claiming or blabbing and grabbing things.  This means to exercise and make use of that faith which has God for its author, which is the work of God, which can be used for His glory, and that would assist you in lifting up the name of Christ.

Faith is a free seed gift of His grace placed within the heart of every believer by Christ.  And this God given faith must continue to have pleasing Christ and doing His will as its true motive.  When believed accordingly, then faith is supported by His Power, Authority and Grace, so that whatever is being believed in your heart shall be done.

Throughout this lesson, Christ is teaching His followers to pray in faith and to believe in your heart with the understanding that ANYTHING that would try to hinder, barricade, oppose, discourage, entrap, impede or defeat the progress of furthering His Kingdom could be overcome through faith.

Through these faith encouraging and authoritative words, Christ spoke that NO OBSTACLE should be able to stand before a confiding faith in God.

Now, even more important is the portion where Jesus said “and does not doubt in their heart.”  Well, What Does It Mean “To Believe With Your Heart?”

In John 4:24 NIV Jesus said “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  When you are born-again or saved, your spirit has been made alive.  New birth occurs in your spirit.  Therefore, believing God starts in your spirit.

Believing that God hears and answers prayer begins deep down inside of you, right in your spirit.  Love, faith, deliverance, healing, guidance, assurance, forgiveness, supplied resources and victory all first begin in the spiritual realm before being made or manifested in our physical realm. You first must believe it according to God’s Word, Authority and Grace, in your spirit or in your heart.  That’s where “You know that you know.”

Just like in the story of the woman who had the issue of blood, in Matthew 9:21, “For she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”  Somehow after she had heard about Jesus she said within herself, she said within herself, she fully and firmly believed within herself that if she could just touch the hem of his garment or clothes that she would be healed.

She thought that the sickness in her frail body was of such a delicate nature that her modesty would forbid her to make any public outcry.  But being strongly impressed, influenced and encouraged by Jesus’ words and miraculous cures upon others that she said within her and followed her heart and touched Him in faith.

So faith in what she had heard caused her to act which resulted in her life and situation becoming dramatically changed.

Today, too many are just hoping for just something, anything to just happen in their circumstances.  But Christ has given us both faith to stand and faith to be productive in our lives once His Words are forged and activated in our spirit.

Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God.”  When you hear the Word of God, you’re hearing, forging, storing, and believing it deep within your spiritual man.  Then it’s from there that you’ll begin to physically and mentally act on God’s Word through faith.

Reading, studying and meditating on God’s Word and His Promises will bring conviction and assurance in your spirit.  It’s there that you’ll find rest, peace and unspeakable joy regardless of the surrounding mountains or the raging seas in your midst.  And it’s from out of your spirit that you’ll have the God kind of faith to speak and take authority over your circumstances, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.  AMEN!
