“Who Told You That You Can’t When You Can?”

Today’s Daily Devotional From Pastor Andrew Bills

Who Told You That You Can’t When You Can?”

Philippians 4:13 NASB says,

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me..”

With confidence in God’s word and the help of The Holy Spirit, you can bear up under any trial, perform any duty, resist any temptation, pierce through any darkness, overcome any evil, start any dream and accomplish any goals that Christ has placed in your heart.

So, who told you that you can’t when you can!!!

You’re not too old to learn something new or not to young to serve The Lord.   He is the arm that we must lean on and the strength that we must trust in.  He alone is our way of escape through the wilderness journey, the only one that can restore that which has been devoured and our only hope towards victory.

“Yes You Can” for Christ will enable you to begin, conduct and perform all things by having faith and relying on Him.

This is one of the most memorized and quoted verses throughout the Bible, but do you really believe it?  Don’t doubt God in your heart for God still uses the “foolish things in the world to confound the wise and the weak things to confound the mighty.”  (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Even though The Apostle Paul was imprisoned, he wrote this passage of scripture because he knew that The Holy Spirit is almighty and has unrestricted, supernatural and divine authoritative power.

So even while incarcerated, He continued to take care of the churches and to preach the gospel, while bearing afflictions and persecutions. Through the presence of The Holy Spirit, he endured continual slander, cruel  and torturing opposition all for the sake of Christ.   Not in his own strength, for even Paul was aware of his own weaknesses, but in his reliance upon the Spirit of God.

It is only through our spiritual union in Christ Jesus that we are made sufficient.  Through His Word and Holy Spirit, believers are strengthened, unrestricted, enabled and empowered to face and press forwarded despite the challenges, lack or hindrances.

Consider the other original Apostles and early Church saints, who without the benefits of our modern technology  or transportation, took the gospel of Christ to the world.  No telegraph, telephone, automobiles, jet airplanes or no comfortable ocean liners.   No computers, internet, printing presses, comfortable hotel suites and no credit cards.

Without any of our modern conveniences, while under great persecution and other horrific opposition, they took the message to the world, shaking towns, villages regions and nations with the message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

How much more are we enabled, with the help of The Holy Spirit of God, to achieve a dream or accomplish a desired goal?

What a privilege it is to be a Christian!  To know and have God as our “Unchanging Father and Friend” in these rapidly changing and very tough times.

Daily Devotional – “Are You Longing For A Change But One Doesn’t Appear Anywhere In Sight?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

longing 1

Are You Longing For A Change But One Doesn’t Appear Anywhere In Sight?”

I began conversing with a woman that I knew was experiencing hard times when suddenly she looked at me and out of anguish said, “I’m still waiting for my ship to come in!”   So, to lighten the moment, I jokingly replied, “It did, but it sank in the harbor!   And if you want your stuff you’ll have to dive down to get it and I’ll help you,” which brought a great smile to her discouraged face.

Longing for a change, something better or different always seems to be a driving factor in our lives, with disappointments running a close second in the race.  But, the Bible offers us more than a theology for overcoming a variety of situations.

Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

During any “soul-shaking”experience, in the midst of the worst of times, we are helpless with Christ.  It’s during these encounters or attacks that HE IS our fortitude, salvation, deliverance, guidance, comfort and help even in our darkest hour.   Do you believe this?

God is our source to flee to for safety, strength, shelter, aid and assistance despite any danger, trouble or even weakness that may come our way.  HE IS the strength for our hearts under the greatest of trials and our “way out of no way”from every enemy that surrounds us.  Again, do you believe this?

“Present Help” reveals that HE IS THE proven, powerful, effectual, reliable and faithful ONE.  HE ALONE makes the difference because of who HE IS and the graces that He loves to demonstrate in the lives of those that trust Him and confess Him before all others.

“Trouble” identifies all that will come upon us which will bring sorrow, anxiety, discouragement, broken-heartedness and grief.

God is the God of all comfort and He has a lengthy and faithful history of divinely intervening and orchestrating in our affairs.  Now is NOT the time to give up on God because HE HAS NOT given up on you.

While the gospel is the Good News to the world, too much Christian teaching today seems to be a little more than positivism plastered with religious jargon or clichés. We must cease preaching “faith in our faith” and recover the distinctive ability to have faith in THE LIVING CHRIST and His atoning work, walk in obedience to the scriptures and listen to the voice of The Holy Spirit.

Realize that through Christ, HE IS THE LORD OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH, so you have nothing to fear!

Daily Devotional – “What Should You Do When Life Gives You Lemons?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

lemons to lemonade

What Should You Do When Life Gives You Lemons?

Life is full of a variety of experiences. There are some we wish to bask in and hold in our memories, and others we would like to press the delete button and pretend they never happened.

While we can never go back and change things, we should allow those experiences to become our teacher but NOT our undertaker. If you don’t learn from those experiences and grow you’ll become angry or filled with resentment and then reap negative results from those experiences.

Now, we have a choice to make when life gives us lemons and things turn out opposite of our desires. We can blame ourselves or others and allow anger to steal our peace and do things we would later regret or say things we wish we hadn’t. Or we can step back from the situation and trust God to fix those things we’ve messed up, heal the hurts that have been caused, and grant us the strength to move onward.

In Genesis 29:23 & 25 NIV it says, “But when evening came, Laban took his daughter Leah and gave her to Jacob, and Jacob lay with her. And when morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? I served you for Rachel, didn’t I? Why have you deceived me?”

Jacob had made it known to Laban that he loved Rachel and had promised seven years of service for her hand in marriage.

After the marriage ceremony and much celebration, under the cover of darkness, Laban took Leah his older daughter and brought her to Jacob. As the bride was always veiled as a sign of purity, and the bedroom generally dark, Leah was brought to Jacob in the night instead of Rachel. And in the next morning, he discovered the deception and fraud.

So after much dispute and a week had passed, Laban agreed to give Jacob Rachel also: two wives in eight days and to each of these Laban additionally gave one maid-servant to wait upon them. And from all of this Laban was to get seven more years of service out of Jacob.

Through this experience, Jacob had to learn how to look to the Lord and move forward from this place.

God allows a variety of experiences to enter our lives to see how we’ll respond, increase our faith, build our character and bring us to a greater maturity. Will you trust him no matter what or will you only trust him when he gives you what we want?

Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith and He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change. When something “bad” happens, it’s in our best interest to look to Him with a confident attitude and trust Him to guide and help us to make sweet lemonade out of sour lemons.

He’s got our backs in every temptation, trial or unexpected situation. Out of His great love, power and grace, if you turn to Him, He will see you through every adverse circumstance, negative situation and painful condition that you’ll ever encounter, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

A Special Word from Pastor Andrew Bills

A Special Word from Pastor Andrew Bills

In Luke 4:18-19 Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Two years ago in May, we launched The Victory Report Hour evangelistic ministry.  WE BELIEVED that the work that Jesus began in His earthly ministry is still being performed today as we preach Christ crucified on the cross, resurrected from the dead and ascended on high.

THEREFORE, I BELIEVE that through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we shall see the undeniable evidence of The Love, Grace and Power of God.

And through the preaching and teaching of His Word and the mighty moving of The Holy Spirit, I BELIEVE AND WILL CONTINUALLY EXPECT TO SEE lives radically transformed, hearts sanctified, sins forgiven, minds renewed, the gifts of The Holy Spirit of God in operation and many different blessings and miracles from the hand of God.

I BELIEVE that the unclean will be made pure, the profane will become worshippers, thieves will become honest and giving people, the sick will be made whole, drunkards will be made sober, drug addicts will be delivered, spouses will learn how to love their mates, sinners will be loosed from the bonds of guilt and shame, and that those filled with hateful bigotry will be made loving and meek.

I BELIEVE that many others will be set free from cultism, pagan superstitions and other demonic practices as they turn to THE LIVING CHRIST.

Believing that the preaching of the cross is the power of God, I encourage all believers and fellow preachers everywhere, to join in taking the message of THE LIVING CHRIST to the world.  Not with soothing words to magically charm or intellectually captivate, but in clear demonstration of The Love and Power of His Spirit.  God’s Word has full Authority both in Heaven and on Earth and is full of promises for us today.  So, DON’T DOUBT IN YOUR HEART, believe on Him and open yourself up to His Grace.

Therefore, as I continue to take Christ into the streets of my local community, and lift Him up globally via the social media, internet, radio, television, newspapers and through our daily devotional emails, I AM BELIEVING GOD for the pulling down of strongholds and TRUSTING GOD TO DO exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to Ephesians 3:20, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Will you join with us in prayer and in giving a financial donation to this ministry during this Second Anniversary Month of May?   (To donate, please click on the PAYPAL donation button on the upper right side).

God Bless & Thank You,

Daily Devotional – “Are You Too Quick On The Trigger Or Being Led By The Lord?”

trigger happy

A woman had just finished shopping and returned to the car. When she arrived she found four men inside the car. Immediately, she dropped her shopping bags, drew a handgun from her purse and screamed, “I have a gun and I know how to use it! Get out of the car or I’ll shoot.”

The men didn’t wait for a second command and they quickly got out and ran like crazy. The woman, somewhat shaken, then loaded her shopping bags and then got into the car. But no matter how she tried, she just couldn’t get her key into the ignition. Then it finally dawned on her, that her car was parked five spaces away!

Immediately, she loaded her groceries into her own car and then drove straight to the police station to turn herself in. The desk sergeant to whom she told the story nearly fell out of his chair laughing. Then he pointed to the other end of the room, where those four men were there reporting a carjacking by an old woman with thick glasses, curly white hair, less than five feet tall and carrying a large handgun.

She had mistakenly thought the car was hers, but it really belonged to someone else. And fortunately for her, since no one was injured or killed, no charges were filed.

Mistakes, we’ve all made them, hopefully not as foolish or extreme as this one.   But whether you realize it or not, you are still a work in progress, for many have learned in life that “haste always makes waste.”

Proverbs 19:2 NASB says, “It is not good for a person to be without knowledge, and he who hurries his footsteps errs.”

Too many people are in too big of a rush today and many have suffered greatly because of their lack of knowledge, wisdom or patience under certain situations or in crucial areas.

Instead of having a quiet spirit or keeping a cool head, many have spoken insulting words they’ve later regretted or done things they’ve wish they hadn’t. Our hospitals and even graveyards are filled with those who acted too fast without clearly or reasonably thinking things through.

When your emotions are running high, its becomes too easy for confusion, fear, panic or rage to set in or run its course, affecting your common sense judgment which always results in errors, mistakes, embarrassment, sin and even death.

Many times you would do well at taking a second look as you reconsider the matter. Take time to think, as you also take a deep breath and remember who you are in Christ, and who Christ is in you. Learning and remembering to be in control will always have a more positive, spiritual and effective result with a better outcome.
