Daily Devotional – “Are You A Person After God’s Own Heart?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Heart of God

Are You A Person After God’s Own Heart?”

Is God the main focus in your life?  Are you a person after God’s own heart?  “My will” or “God’s will,” which road have you chosen?

Countless people are spending hours tending to their bodies, trying to recapture their youthful look, making improvements to their physical appearance, while spending a fortune on cosmetics, creams, dyes, diets and other solutions.

Now, while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing these things, if you only focus and work on caring for and feeding your flesh, then all you will ever get are temporary fleshly results.   Then at the end you’ll discover that, while you pampered and entertained the flesh, your spirit man withered away or remained dead to Christ.

But, if you’ll seek His face and walk in His Word, then you’ll experience the dynamics of The Holy Spirit in your life and have rewarding results and eternal blessings in your life.

In Acts 13:22 it says,“After God had removed Saul, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.”

While King Saul started out as a man that appeared to acknowledge God, it was clearly revealed by his actions that was a man of the flesh.   He did things that he wanted to do, he followed the dictates of his own fleshly mind and he was influenced by the forces of darkness which finally led him to fall in ruin and defeat.  God, through His Prophet Samuel had given King Saul many chances to do what was right but his continual performance and his failure to believe God revealed his true character and proved otherwise.

Now, while David wasn’t perfect, his heart truly longed to please The Lord.  He sought His forgiveness, he sought to walk in His ways, he knew His mercy and he made God his priority in his life.

Obedience is the key to the miraculous and living a life that pleases God has better and far more reaching results than one could ever imagine.

Daily Devotional – “Did You Know That Little Is Much When God Is In It?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

thank you God 2

Did You Know That Little Is Much When God Is In It?”

Have you ever felt as if your contribution was too small to make the difference or your participation might be viewed as too insignificant? During these days of massive fundraising campaigns and expensive marketing project blitz, it’s wonderful to know what The Lord can still do through one humble person who’s heart is open to Christ Jesus.

God’s amazing and incomprehensible grace can be seen when the meager substance of a little’s boys lunch was placed in the hands of The Lord.  For a miracle and great multiplication of the food came as a result of first giving thanks to God for what was being offered before Him.

Mark 6:41-42 NIV says, “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.  They all ate and were satisfied.”

While this biblical story can be read in all 4 of the gospels, we must pay close attention to the wonderful example given to us from this account.

Jesus offered what was placed in His hands to be blessed by God.  He sought God’s Divine Supernatural and Miraculous Intervention after giving thanks, acknowledging God as being Supreme.

His primary focus was not in seeking God to bless the food, but in blessing God and giving thanks for what had been supplied and placed in His hand.

What a wonderful example that’s before us!

Being thankful for what God has truly provided is a clear revelation of what’s in the heart of a person.  Are you grateful for what God has done in your life?  When was the last time you expressed being thankful unto Him?

That which was offered by a “handful” was blessed, touched and resulted in a greater “quantity” by God.  It is God that multiplies whatever the seed that is being sown and it’s God that produces the increase.

There’s no offering that’s considered too small or no work viewed insignificant when it’s by faith and motivated from the heart.

So whatever you have as an offering, a service or work to be rendered, realize that it will be blessed by The Lord’s creative divine power as you’re concerned about the welfare of other men’s souls around you.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Special Announcement – “EVIL WILL NOT WIN!”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

helping people

EVIL  WILL NOT WIN!”

My brothers and my sisters, once again innocent people have been attacked, and this time in Boston Massachusetts. But, despite all the suffering, hurt, pain and grief that we’re now experiencing from this cowardly act, EVIL WILL NOT WIN!

Since this massacre upon innocent runners, bystanders and citizens and their families, a great rally cry has again sounded. A great sense of decency is bringing people together, people who have laid down their differences and forgot about divisions, to become one with the hurting and are making it known that EVIL WILL NOT WIN.

Let’s pray for those injured and suffering, let’s pray for the paramedics, doctors and all the members of the medical staffs, let’s pray for all the agencies and churches that are working to bring relief and care to those hurting and crying, and then let’s pray for our law enforcement teams that through their dedicated investigations will find and bring to justice those responsible for this senseless, cowardly and demonic act.

Romans 12:21 says “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

We must not allow ourselves to become vanquished, subdued, or defeated by the actions of any evil or soul-less individual or groups. As we will continue to stand against all evil activity and opposition, we must not step down to the level of any ungodly circumstance, abandon our principles of faith, nullify our prayers or forget about God’s future judgment and His eternal plans.

Faith alone in God will once again help us to advance in our world against these elements of corruption. Since the gospel has been preached, people over the past centuries have maintained the Christian principle of learning how to overcome evil with good.

So with the aid of His Holy Spirit, we will continue to work to restrain and prevent evil from claiming supremacy over our lives, we must continue to show proof that His love and grace does yet abide today, that the evils in this world will not overcome us and that we will stand together, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Daily Devotional – “Do You Really Know Just How Much The Father Loves You?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Trust Me

Do You Really Know Just How Much The Father Loves You?

We had just returned from visiting and playing with our 18 month old grandson who’s a strong bundle of energy and a human dynamo that completely wore us out.

While his language only consists of words like, “No” or “Mom,” he would grab me by my finger and pull me until I would get up and follow him to the piano. There he climbed upon the bench and again pulled on my finger until I sat down next to him. Then he began to “bang away” on the piano keys and try to loudly sing.

Then, I struck one key and began to sing that note until he joined in. With his head tilted back, his eyes brightly shinning, and his wonderful smiling face, we then seemed to sing together in almost absolute perfect harmony. Suddenly, as I looked down into his face, I sensed My Heavenly Father say to my heart, Just like you love Him, I love you more than you will ever know.”

Immediately, I was completely overwhelmed and tears began to rapidly flow as I meditated on those words and continued to gaze down at my grandson. As I was greatly blessed during this moment of revelation, I no longer could sing and began to tightly hug and love on my grandson.

Suddenly, I recalled those dear famous words from John 3:16-17,“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.”

Many people don’t know, don’t care, or don’t understand the love that God has for them. But God has your best interests always in His heart and desires to do great and wonderful things in you, through you and by you in this world.

But many shut The Lord out of their lives after breathing His air, drinking His water and enjoying His sunshine, by deceiving themselves by acting as if God doesn’t exist, no longer cares, isn’t important, or that He’s even dead. They just don’t care or can’t realize what great extent God went to in order to reconcile people back into fellowship with Him.

Salvation may be offered free to us but it surely didn’t come cheap. A price greater than any of us will ever understand was paid in order to redeem us out of darkness and sin. Jesus Christ died a very real shameful, horrific and bloody death on that cross, but many live their lives as if they only consider it as just a cute story of fantasy, a fairy tale for children, or an archic fable for the aged just before dying.

But, The Heavenly Father loves you so very much that He has chosen to save you from your sins when you call on Him. He has chosen to hear and answer your prayers when you seek after Him, to be your strength during times of weakness, to be your peace when you’re experiencing heart-wrenching struggles and inner conflict, and to anoint you to perform your daily walk and Christian service.  And all of these things plus much more were only provided or given to us through the death and resurrection of His Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Daily Devotional – “Did You Know That If You Are Hurting, Then He Hurts Too?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Did You Know That Igracef You Are Hurting, Then He Hurts Too?

During His earthly life, Jesus Christ was never a stranger to temptation, sorrow, loneliness, heartache, suffering, rejection and pain.  Then upon The Cross, Jesus allowed Himself to be forsaken by God so He could say, “I know what it feels like, I’ve been there too.”

Hebrews 4:15 NASB says “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.”

Our Lord knows about our pain and is always moved by the same things that distress us.  Our Lord, having taken on our human nature, flesh and blood, a human body and a human soul and having lived a human life, today is not without feelings, while being Our Great High Priest.

Therefore, Our High Priest is NOT some cold, unfeeling, uncaring, heartless, untouchable, distant or abstract personality or being.  NO!  HE IS abundantly qualified to sympathize with us in our afflictions and THE ONE to whom we can look to for aid and support throughout our trials in life.

If we had a high priest who was cold, indifferent and uncaring, THEN WHY are there so many promises regarding salvation, forgiveness, grace, hearing and answering prayer, comforting the broken hearted, deliverance, healing, giving peace during troubling times, providing needs, and giving strength and hope during the dark times in our lives?

Why would He have sent The Holy Spirit to continually help, assist, teach and guide us?  Why would He continually dispatch His holy angels to be ministering spirits to stand with us along the way?

Years ago, my step-mother laid in a coma with different tubes being connected to her frail body for monitoring pain medication and verifying her vitals, having been diagnosed with cancer throughout her body.   Throughout life, we didn’t always agree on many things and weren’t as close as we could have been, especially after the death of my father years earlier.

I was a pastor of a small church and also worked as a truck driver and after returning back very late from my route, she was mightily on my mind and I felt led to go to the hospital to see her.  It was beyond visiting hours and just past midnight when I arrived.  But, after explaining who I was and that I also was a pastor, the hospital staff allowed me to enter her room.

As I gazed down at her lying in that coma, I then turned to looked out the side window at the beautiful star-lite night and I prayed, “Lord, if I could just speak to her one more time I would tell her that I am sorry and that I really do love her.”

Suddenly, I heard a movement and she opened her eyes and looking at me said, “Daddy?”  That’s was her loving pet name that she’d called my father and I had the honor of looking just like him.

With tears streaming down my face I said, “No, dear it’s Junior and I want you to know how much I really love you.”   As she starred at me, for the last time she spoke, “Junior, I love my Junior.”  And with a wonderful smile that I’ll never forget, her frail body sank back into the sheets and went back to sleep.  And before sunrise that morning, she went to be with Our Lord.

I will never forget that encounter or experience and the wonderful grace of Christ.  He had allowed her to briefly come out of that coma to commune with me for that special and priceless last time.  And how wonderful it was to my soul.

My friends, one cannot live for God without encountering and being affected by His love, His mercy and His Wonderful Grace.  As believers in Christ, we do not remember or worship one who only just lived and died.

No, we worship, serve and continually have faith in He who once died but IS RISEN and IS ALMIGHTY and as Our High Priest, is very concerned about and is interactive in our lives today.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Daily Devotional – “Do You Know That You Can Never Be In Any Impossible Situation Where The Lord Cannot Find You?”

“The Victory Corner” – from Pastor Andrew Bills
“Do You Know That You Can Never Be In Any Impossible Situation Where The Lord Cannot Find You?
Daily Devotional

I often sing a verse of a song that reads: Have you any rivers that you think are un-crossable? Have you any mountains that you can’t tunnel through? God Specializes in things thought impossible. And He can do, what no other power can do….

In Matthew 14: 22-33 we read the amazing and miraculous story of Jesus walking on the water to come to the aid and rescue his disciples.

Jesus had earlier instructed His disciples to get into the boat and to cross over to the other side of the sea. Then he left them that night to go up into the mountains alone to pray.

Now the disciples had sailed about 4 to 5 miles across the Sea of Tiberias, which is no more than 10 miles wide, so that they were literally in the very midst of the sea. Suddenly the circumstances severely changed and these expert fishermen became overwhelmed with fear and panic from the impending danger.

In verses 24 & 25 we read, “But the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.”

As they aimlessly struggled to save themselves and keep their boat from sinking, Jesus went walking on the sea directly to them. He not only knew where they were the whole time, but despite the darkness and the lack of visibly from the stormy conditions, they never got out of His divine sight.

He revealed His unlimited power and authority over the laws of gravitation by walking upon the sea; as on dry land. And though the sea was raging from the cold blowing winds in the darkness of night, because of the utmost danger surrounding the disciples that He loved, He came to their rescue.

There’s no storm that might arise in your life that Christ cannot subdue or appear in. He will do whatever is necessary to demonstrate His saving and delivering power, His love and His wonderful grace in your life and circumstances.

Your every passage may not be peaceful and lovely, but He will always be with you through the storms in your life and bring you to a calm landing.

When we walk in obedience and faith we are in the safest place in the universe, for He has promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. So, Have Faith In God!
