Do You Really Believe In The Power Behind The Cross Of Jesus?”

On July 1, 1824, Charles Finney, an ordained Presbyterian minister, appeared in a number of churches and other buildings to lead revivals over the next few decades throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

Preaching three times on Sundays and three more times during the week throughout the “red light district”areas in these states, great revivals broke out as Finney taught that the atoning blood of Jesus Christ was all that was needed to open up the way for God to pardon people of their sin and only by repentance and the acceptance of Christ in one’s soul could one be saved from damnation and Hell’s fires and be assured of a place in Heaven.

A great decrease of the criminal activity in these areas was solely attributed to his gospel preaching and leading of thousands of sinners to Christ.

On one particular occasion, as Finney was about to enter the church he was to preach at, a man approached him and asked if he could privately speak with him after the service.  Finney said yes, and after entering the building, a deacon pulled him quickly to the side and said, “Do you know who that man is?”  Finney said no.  The deacon said, “Don’t have anything to do with him.  It’s rumored that he’s the one responsible for all the gambling, drugs, prostitution, and murders in this city.  He’s a really bad man!  Don’t have anything to do with him!”

Finney said that he had given his word to meet him after the service and must keep his word to see what he wanted, and he entered the church.

After the service, that man was waiting for Finney on the doorsteps of the building.  Finney greeted him and the man said, “I would like to speak privately with you.  Can you come to my office?”  Finney said yes and began following him.

They walked a couple of blocks and then suddenly turned down a dark alley before coming to a door that led downwards into a small room in the cellar.  In the room were just an old desk and one chair.

As the man sat down, looking up at Finney he said, “Do you know who I am?” And Finney responded, “Yes.”   Then the man slowly reached into his desk drawer and pulled out a gun and laid it on top of the desk and said, “I’d like to ask you a question.”

He proceeded, “It has been said that I’m the one responsible for all the gambling, drugs, prostitution, and crime in this city.  Can God forgive a man for having done all of these things?”  Finney replied, “First John 1:9 it says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The man just nodded and then said, “There are several families that have been ruined because I’ve had their husbands or fathers murdered.  Can God forgive a man for having done all of these things?”  Finney again responded, “First John 1:9 it says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Again, the man just slightly nodded his head.

Then the man said, “I’m married and have a little daughter that I rarely see because I’ve been with several other women.  Can God forgive a man for all of this?”  Once again Finney declared, “In First John 1:9 it says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Finally, the man just looking up from his desk at Finney in the dimly lit room said, “You can now go.”  And without another spoken word from either, Finney departed.

After sunrise the next morning, the man went home.  Upon hearing the front door unlock, the man’s wife quickly told her daughter that “Your daddy’s home but whatever you do, stay out of his way.”  The man entered his home.  Upon smelling the scent of the breakfast, he entered into the kitchen where they were nervously standing.  He walked over to his little daughter and picked her up and held her for the first time in his arms and kissed her cheek and told her how much he loved her.  Then he proceeded to embrace his wife, and after kissing her, he asked her forgiveness for all that he’d ever done to her and announced that their lives would never be the same again because of Christ.

You don’t get to Heaven by being “good” or go to Hell for being “bad.”  The Bible says we’re ALL born in sin or all bad, and we’ve ALL fallen short of the Glory of God and in need of a savior.  God therefore saves those who believe in His Son, that He died on the cross for them and washed their sins away.  Then God not only forgives our sin, but also purifies our heart.

The Eternal Son put on flesh and blood and died to wash us from our sins in his own atoning blood that we may have a new relationship and intimate fellowship with Christ and be destined for Heaven.

God Himself has provided the sufficient and effectual Sacrifice for sin that is needed throughout all the generations of mankind, without which a person is lost forever.

“Are You Aware That God Has Special Plans For You?”

Are You Aware That God Has Special Plans For You?”

If you’re a believer, God has made you a joint heir through Jesus Christ and has special plans for you.  For you’ve been called out of darkness, set free and filled with His Spirit with the potential to fulfill His Will.

It’s not in the mentality of God for you to think that you’ve been saved just to go to heaven when you die and just sit around idle until then.  You’ve been called into fellowship with God and to experience the power of His Spirit living through you to make changes in your home, community, church, city, country, and even the world by standing up in faith through Jesus Christ.

Now, Satan will lie and try to make you think that you’re a failure, that you can’t amount to anything, that you’re useless, that you lack the courage, that you’re situation is hopeless, and that you don’t have what it takes to be used by The Lord.   He will tell you that you’re not saved, anointed enough, or have not been saved long enough to do His Will, but that’s a lie from the pit.

For God chooses and uses ordinary people, just like yourself, to be a witness and example before the world regarding the power of God through Jesus Christ.  He enables you to serve Him and He’s the one you are to look to for your guidance, wisdom, and strength.  You must learn and remember that wherever the Will of God will take you, The Grace of God will keep you.

In 1st Corinthians 1: 26-29 NLT, The Holy Spirit said through The Apostle Paul, “Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise.  And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.  God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.  As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.”

Gideon was afraid, Moses complained that he couldn’t speak well and Barak the general refused to take his army to battle unless Deborah the Prophetess accompanied him.  Samuel was just a child when called by God, the Pharisees called Peter and John ignorant and unlearned fishermen and just like them, the world often taunts us Christians as “losers.”

But our victory and success is not dependent just upon our human wisdom, physical might, natural talent, or earthly resources.  God has always shown His power by choosing and using the under-qualified, the abandoned, the weak, the obscure and the unlearned.  Those that God uses are those who will humble themselves, be pardoned by His grace, stand on His Word and be filled with His Spirit in or to be mightily used of Him.

Christ has even used young children and teenagers that are led by Him to silence the mouths of some elite infidels and those that believe they are in the highest ranks of humanity.

The flesh of proud men always stands in opposition to The Spirit of God and the opinions of the world are in contradiction to the divine wisdom and the anointing that comes from above.

By bestowing His Grace on the humble, The Lord has a lengthy history of confounding the wise to bring to them to shame, just to reveal to them how little their wisdom contributes to the success of His Divine cause.

God has redeemed you and wants to elevate you through His Word and the power of His Holy Spirit to do things that the world cannot understand or resist.

Will you surrender, submit, and commit yourself to Jesus Christ and His Will for your life?

“Did You Know That God Is Your Only Way Through Your Situation?”

Did You Know That God Is Your Only Way Through Your Situation?”

Are you trusting God for your healing, breakthrough or victory?  The Cross and The Resurrection of Christ are our assurances that God has given us the victory over all of our enemies in every conflict that we face, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Today, many people are now facing some of the most horrific situations that they’ve ever encountered in their lives.   Lives are being destroyed by drug addiction or chemical dependency.  Abusiveness is crushing homes and crippling lives, and time won’t permit me here to list all of the other demonic activities or satanic entrapments that are wreaking havoc throughout our cities today.

As the powers of darkness are opposing you, wishful thinking or mere hoping will not resolve your dilemma or cure your situation.  And trying to handle matters on your very own really hasn’t worked for you either.  Only the power and authority of God’s Word, through faith in Jesus Christ will.

One has only to pick up the Bible and start reading from the beginning to discover God’s Eternal Existence, His Supremacy, His Authority and His Power.

Well, Don’t You Know That You Completely Surprise The Devil When You Rise Up In His Face In Faith, In The Name Of Jesus Christ, And Stand On God’s Word?

The powers of darkness never really expect you to do that.  Satan though you were defeated!  NO!!!  More so, he thought you even thought that you were defeated and finished.

We too must learn what David discovered, that God Almighty is The Lord Of The Breakthrough.”

In 2nd Samuel chapter 5, once again we read of the enemy forces attacking David and the nation of Israel.  But, we also read about God’s supernatural divine intervention in their midst.

2nd Samuel 5:20 NLT says,So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The LORD did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”).

As a soldier who placed his confidence in God, David asked for a plan of attack from God, who was his real commander-in-chief.  God so mightily moved, David declared it was like water bursting through an opposing dam which quickly brought destruction to everything that was in its way.

By acting in perfect obedience, David succeeded where King Saul had failed and totally defeated the Philistines.  Obedience to God’s instructions or Word was David’s key to experiencing the miraculous intervention of God.

Obedience is also THE KEY TO YOUR BREAKTHROUGH.  You must make a conscious decision to spend time with God in daily fellowship and studying His Word.  Then you’ll be able to take over your situation and see the mighty hand of God move in your very midst.

While salvation is free, it didn’t come cheap!  It cost God the very best He had to offer, HIS SON!   Now, Christ is able to bring salvation, deliverance and grace right into your midst, but are you really ready to give Him your undivided attention?  How bad do you really need and want Him to move in your life and circumstances?

Romans 8:31 NIV then says,What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

If The Holy Spirit of God is engaged to bring us through, which of our enemies can withstand His awesome Word and mighty outstretched hand?   NONE CAN!!!

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Where Is The Lord When You Need Him Most?”

Stress, heartaches, mental anguish and emotional torment can wreck havoc in your life and leave you shipwrecked, IF YOU LET IT!

But, God has not brought you this far to leave you!  Walking by faith, as we deal with certain painful challenges during dark hours not only seems unpleasant, but excruciating at times.

In every biblical story or encounter, God has always stepped into “impossible situations or dire circumstances” and by His presence, word, grace or power, made the difference in the lives of His people. Throughout our lengthy history, God has always demonstrated and proven His Faithfulness to man many, many times, so what makes you now think that He won’t be there for you?

In Exodus 23:20 NIV, God told Moses, “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”

Not only was the name of Jehovah in this angel, but this was none other than the “pre-incarnate” Christ who went before them in the pillar of a cloud by day and fire by night to guide, keep and bring them to the special place prepared by Him. He promised to preserve them through the wilderness, to give them victory over all the enemies that should set upon them and to bring them into the land of Canaan, which he had appointed or promised them.

Just like God promised Moses that He would always guide and direct his journey to the promised land, so God has also promised to be involved in guiding and delivering you throughout your bad or rough encounters, whether they come from the wilderness of this earth or are direct insults from the gates of hell.  Christ has promised to bring us to a place which God has especially designed for those that love and trust him.

So, know this important thing: The Holy Spirit of God is completely observant of all the situations you’re facing and is now invisibly conducting, leading, attending to, and orchestrating in your life and all of your affairs.  He’s also protecting all of God’s children, no matter how dark it might be appearing to you at this very moment.

Stand fast on His Word, know that His Almighty Eye is always upon you throughout every hour, know that He still hears and answers prayer, and finally know that when you seek His face, He will always reveal His mighty hand in your very midst

The greatest source of power is God’s Word, but you must connect into Him to be energized and turned on….. So, don’t breakdown, BREAKTHRU AND BREAKOUT IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
