“How Can A Loving God Send People To Hell?”

Today’s Daily Devotion from Pastor Andrew Bills

hell

“How Can A Loving God Send People To Hell?”
Unbelief is against God’s only divine cure or remedy for sin. For everyone born is automatically on the road to hell because we are all under the sentence of death, passed on from Adam, and thereby were born in sin and already condemned.
Yet Christ’s warning against this condemnation and the impending danger of hell was given and still remains in one of His greatest messages of love. It was never meant to be used as a scare tactic, but rather as God’s divine invitation to come unto Him through His Son. (Read John 3: 16-19)
But John 3:18 NIV records these words directly spoken from the lips of Jesus, “Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
God does not send anyone to hell, a person’s rejection of Jesus Christ does!  Even though it’s not God’s will that any should be lost, the Lord reveals that there is a certain condemnation that will result in the wrath of God being experienced, but it come from the result of one’s own heart that this condemnation will come.
How great will be the misery of the unbelievers!!! If a lost sinner does not believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God, whom God sent to be the Savior to deliver him from wrath to come; and there is no other name but His whereby he can be saved; how awful will be that damnation!
Jesus Christ suffered excruciating shame and brutality as they nailed Him to the cross. He so loves us that He alone paid the ultimate price and experienced hell that we might not go there ourselves.
Yet many take a whimsical attitude or have a twisted view or opinion about this when it should be taken extremely serious. Down throughout the history of man, God has always demonstrated His goodness, mercy and compassion. But time and time again, the heart of our Creator and Lord has been broken as man turned away from walking in His fellowship, which always resulted in disaster or destruction.
While lost sinners still remain under the sentence of this condemnation passed placed upon Adam from The Lord, he is guilty before God and this curse is still upon his head. The only way his immediate life and eternal destiny can be changed and made secure is through surrendering, submitting and committing oneself to Jesus Christ.

“Don’t You Know That What You’re Dealing With Is Not Natural?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Break the chain

Don’t You Know That What You’re Dealing With Is Not Natural?”

God is able to break every chain over your life!  Biblical history has certainly revealed that God has a lengthy history of watching over His people and that GOD’S PRESENCE AMONG HIS PEOPLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN UNDERESTIMATED BY OUR ENEMIES.

On various occasions, demonic activity, Satanic entrapment, evil plans of destruction and ungodly plots have been spoiled or defeated as God’s people have stood in faith, looking to Him for victory over adversity.

Whatever you’re circumstances, God Is Able To Break Every Demonic Chain that will try to hold you captive and destroy you.

In 2 Kings Chapter 6, we learn that war had broken out between King Benhadad  of Syria and King Jehoram of Israel.  Many of planned surprised ambush tactics or sneak guerrilla warfare strategic maneuvers by the Syrian King were revealed, uncovered and brought to naught because the King of Israel received advanced knowledge, anticipated and then spoiled their secret attacks.

Realizing that the Israelites were aware of his every move and overwhelmed by the disappointing frequency of his failed secret plans, the King of Syria immediately called all of his chiefs of staff into an urgent meeting.   For he suspected treason, and believing that he had an informer within his ranks, he wanted the traitor exposed.  But he was wrong.

2 Kings 6:11-12 NLT says, “The king of Aram (Syria) became very upset over this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Which of you is the traitor? Who has been informing the king of Israel of my plans?”  “It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied. “Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

The words uttered and his plans of attack that were made in his private chambers under the cloak of darkness, were being revealed to the Prophet Elisha by God. Then Elisha would provide the king of Israel with the revealed information and Israel’s victory was made secure.

Faith in God doesn’t make things easy, BUT IT ALWAYS MAKES ALL THINGS POSSIBLE!   And God’s presence and grace always makes the difference.  Seek His face and you’ll also see the mighty hand of God moving in your midst.

It proved to be a costly mistake for the Pharaoh of Egypt when he made the fatal decision to chase the Israelites into the Red Sea, but God was supernaturally directing Moses.  It proved to be a costly mistake when The Pharisees persecuted The Apostles in an attempt to stop them from preaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as God poured out great grace upon them, the Word of God spread more rapidly around the world.

No matter what situation you facing, if you draw close to The Lord, The Holy Spirit will begin to reveal wisdom and direction to you that could not be known without Him.  And whatever enemies you’re dealing with, will once again be surprised, spoiled and overtaken because of God’s grace and awesome presence.

So never allow yourself to be depressed or overcome by difficultiesRemember that you have unlimited resources in The Word of God and The Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus.  Even though all Satanic attacks are orchestrated from hell, our strength and victory comes through the cross of Christ which was orchestrated from the throne room of God.

Realize that the greater the difficulties, the greater God’s grace will be in your midst as you trust in Christ.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Are You Allowing Fear To Hold You Hostage?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

fearful

Are You Allowing Fear To Hold You Hostage?”

The Black Panthers, a radical militant group of the 1960’s and 70’s, began to threaten the City of New York.  They declared that they would start blowing up all the bridges through the city unless their demands were met.  The authorities responded by imposing curfews, conducting roadblocks and massive manhunts, scouring the city for them without any initial success.

The leaders of the FBI appealed to a very prominent Black Pastor, Dr. E.V. Hills in Watts, California, to speak to the black community throughout the country to help stop the threats of this siege.  When Dr. Hill met with J. Edgar Hoover, he asked, “How many are involved in that radical movement?”   Hoover replied, “There are 89 militants involved.”  Dr. Hill responded, “89 people are holding two million people hostage in New York City?  How is that possible?”

Fear had brought the city into being held captive, not the 89 militants.  They were being held hostage in their minds, and fear was producing unlimited possibilities of mischief and destruction in their thoughts.

When fear holds you hostage, it will appear to be more powerful, soul-shaking and life threatening than your ability to try to rationally deal with it or spiritually overcome it.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.”

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of love, power, and courage to face any difficulty and overcome all danger.   Through The Holy Spirit, we will be strengthened and enabled to confront and go through all opposition with a sound mind which is guarded by the peace of God which defies all understanding.

Being fearful is a matter of choice.  You may not be able to choose what will happen to you in life, but you clearly can choose the attitude you’ll take in responding to things that happen.  You will either choose to be fearful or stand in faith, believing God for His assistance.

The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy to hold fast, to stand strong upon, and to trust the Holy Scriptures.  In doing so, you too will come to realize the unspeakable value of The Word of God and experience the divine and gracious intervention of Christ in your midst.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear or a cowardly spirit, to be afraid of sinful wicked men or evil demonic forces.  We must not be distracted or detoured from living our lives, doing God’s will, preaching the Gospel, speaking out against false teachers, reproving people for their evil deeds, and touching the world with the love of Christ.

Fear is a tormenting spirit that bombards your mind, creates mental anguish, and wants you to surrender control over to others.  It causes people to become frightened, stressed-out, and even paranoid.  But God wants you to stand strong against this spirit, resist Satan’s temptations, to endure hardness as a good soldier, and be victorious over “the spirit of quit.”

Through Christ, you’ve been given the power to stand up under all the various trials and be triumphant under persecutions.  Though your faith might be tried with fire, we are kept by the power of God through the shed blood of our Lord and should know that the love of Christ Jesus will enable the weak to be strong and stand up in a world that’s fallen down.

Christ has given us His Holy Spirit with many precious promises in His Word.  Without Him, we can do nothing, but with and in Him, there’s nothing that we cannot do.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Will You Allow God To Bring You Out?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Jonah 1

“Will You Allow God To Bring You Out?”

Jonah’s deliverance is more than a mere example of God’s power being expressed over all the creatures of the earth.  It’s a wonderful expression of our Lord hearing the distressful prayers of His children and a demonstration of His mercy and grace to those that trust in Him, regardless  of what you are experiencing.

Jonah 2:10 NIV says, “And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.”

Jonah’s experience reveals that it doesn’t matter how you got where you are, what you have done, how long you have done it, or the severity of the darkness, God has to power to bring you out.

It is time for all people to learn and remember, who is in charge of our circumstances, who is orchestrating behind the scenes and who is working events out for His will and glory.

The Prophet Jonah’s rebellious attitude and actions had brought him to a place of low degree.  After being swallowed alive and imprisoned in the belly of this great fish, Jonah prayed and God heard his cries.

Is your experience in the belly of the whale financial hardship?  Is it marital struggles or family division?  Is it an unexpected illness or from an unforeseen tragic accident?  Is it a result of any type of disobedience?

Repentance, drawing closer to God, surrendering to the leading of The Holy Spirit will always produce have dramatic affects in your life and circumstances.  God then commanded this great creature of the deep and under His Almighty influence, this fish ejected Jonah out onto the dry ground of Nineveh.

All things must yield to His will and word of God, so even this creature of the deep could no longer retain Jonah in its belly.

While Jonah’s deliverance is a type of our Lord’s resurrection from the dead on the third day, it’s a glorious example of God’s divine love and power.  If God then brought Jonah up from the belly of the great fish and resurrected His Son from the belly of the grave, why should you think it difficult or impossible for The Lord to bring deliverance to you?

There are NO adverse circumstances, negative situations, painful conditions or damnable demonic attacks that can withstand or resist the authority of God’s commands.

Through all of our bad experiences, as we draw closer to The Lord, there are great lessons that we too must learn.  While experience is a teacher, you must not allow it to become your undertaker.   Therefore, call upon The Lord and place your confidence in Him.

Upon Jonah’s ejection from his imprisonment  in the vile darkness of the whale’s belly, he immediately began to preach and testify of God.  His persuasion, influence, message and exhortation was so great that within 40 days, all Nineveh repented and turned unto The Lord.

What was your experience as you reflect back and remember what God has brought you through?  Is your life currently bearing testimony of the goodness and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ?

“Where Is God When You Need Him The Most?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

panic stricken

Where Is God When You Need Him The Most?”

Have you ever accused The Lord of being absent or unconcerned about your stressful situation and in great distress cried out, Where the hell is The Lord?”

In Mark 4:38 NIV, His disciples experienced this in the midst of a severe storm as Jesus was asleep within the boat during that crisis.  Panic stricken, they awoke Him as they cried out in sheer agony, Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

Their question seemed like a harsh statement, as if they were scolding Him for sleeping during their crisis.  As Christ slept, they believed that he was unconcerned about their dangerous situation and inattentive of their prayers.  But, even though His eyes were closed and He slept soundly, His heart was open and He had not lost his power.

The ship that Christ had once made his pulpit is now in danger of sinking from the severity of the storm.  Their ship became full of water and the other little ships that followed them also shared in the distress and danger.

The great noise of the wind and the raging sea was so threatening and terrifying beyond any measure to them, that they became paralyzed with fear which further resulted in their becoming pessimistic, doubtful, cynical and critical.

Then, in Mark 4:39, “He arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still.  And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

The storms of life always come to make us forget about Christ, His love for us, His sacrifice on the cross, God’s resurrection  power, His faithfulness to His Word and His amazing grace.

Even though there may arise causes for alarm, you should never allow fear from any adverse circumstance, negative situation or painful condition  affect you to such a degree to make you forget about His love towards you.   On the contrary, it has been said that, “The teacher is most quiet during your test so that you may discover what you have learned.”

“Peace” is never the absence of suffering or adversity.  Peace is not the cessation of things arising against you.   Peace is taking everything to The Lord and believing He will handle it for His glory and your best.

Peace describes or defines our intimate relationship with God through Christ as we are led by The Holy Spirit.

One of the greatest promises can be found in Hebrews 13:5, where He said, “I will never leave you, and I will never forsake you.”

Though we may sometimes be tossed like that ship on the rough sea, remember that Christ is on board and you cannot sink.  That is His promise to you on today.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Where Are You Looking For Help Or Answers?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

searching for

Where Are You Looking For Help Or Answers?”

A return to God or a closer walk with The Lord will always bring forth a complete change in every aspect of life.  So, are you placing a greater value on turning to men or certain organizations to provide answers or obtain help in your time of need?

The nation of Judah did!  Judah was in trouble and was facing one of their darkest periods in history.  Contrary to the express command of God, they sought answers and turned for help to man instead of calling on the name of The Lord.  So, God sent forth The Prophet Isaiah to warn them against further unbelief and to repent and turn to Him.

Isaiah 31:1 NIV says, “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD.”

Despite their history as enemies, the Jews were obsessed with summoning Egypt because of the terror of the approaching Assyrian army.  It was abundantly evidenced that The Jews knew that Egypt had large numbers of chariots maintained by the Pharaoh and that Egypt was the only power which seemed capable of supplying a force to contend with the force of the Assyrians.

The Jews were conscious of their weakness and were allowing fear to motivate them from looking to Heaven to neighboring Egypt.  In doing so, they were placing more trust in the creature rather than their creator.  Acting out of sheer fear and unbelief, they were completely acting independent of God.

They neglected prayer, cast away His Word and ceased to worship, all of which demonstrated their distrust of The Lord.

They placed a higher value in trusting in horses, chariots and soldiers over God, who had a lengthy and faithful history of being their salvation, deliverance and provider than any other source.

There is to be no compromise with the flesh or the world.  Believers must remember that all earthly powers are worthless in comparison to trusting The Lord.  Is your confidence in Christ Jesus or the arm of the flesh?

Here, the prophet begins by crying “Woe” to all who will endeavor to solve their problems by earthly means or through human wisdom rather than seeking the face of God.

The cry of “Woe” signaled the trumpet to sound and declare that God is not impressed by the large numbers of our adversaries or the loud noises or threats that they make.

For our Lord is GREATER THAN any attacking opposition, sickness or disease, financial hardship or depression, political take-over or rising profane group, increasing threats of war, inner city violence, or any famine or drought.

Who or what can stand in the place of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit or The Word of God?  Who else has such authority or power?  What shall separate us from the love of God and The Lord’s amazing grace?

God has always promised His Divine Intervention when people repent, call on His name and walk in obedience to Him.  Then will hearts be opened, minds be renewed, lives restored, bodies healed, people set-free, needs met and the moving of God’s Spirit be evidenced as He begins to orchestrate in our lives and affairs.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Has The Devil Ever Told You That God Doesn’t Care About You Anymore?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

 stressed beyond measure

Has The Devil Ever Told You That God Doesn’t Care About You Anymore?”

Are you aware that the life span of any satanic or fleshly though is only determined by the amount of personal attention you give to it?   As you reflect, ponder, rehearse, nurture or continually bring it up, are you aware that the enemy only continues to bring false accusations against God, condemning indictments personally against you and enticing temptations to you to defeat and destroy you?

It’s during these times when Satan is attacking your faith, these delusions can only be withstood, resisted and overcome by The Spirit of God, The Word of God and by the blood of Jesus Christ.  For they alone stand between you and destruction as the devil attempts to distract your thinking.

In II Corinthians 10:5 NIV says we are instructed to, “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Also in Ephesian 6:16, the Apostle Paul also instructed us “to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”  To quench simply means to extinguish or to put out the fire.  This is done by ceasing to give attention to that demonic or fleshly though that is attempting to take you prisoner and hold you captive.

The devil and your flesh detest carnal thoughts being ignored because if you allow them to flourish, by entertaining the possibilities, they’re directing you to a complete train wreck.

Hopeless people often become harmful people because discouragement and desperation can give birth to uncertain or dangerous behavior and that’s what the devil wants you to experience.

Don’t allow the devil’s implants or lying thoughts to control or influence your mind.  Don’t permit him to paint a vivid picture of doom and gloom right before your eyes.

The casting down of any carnal reasoning, ungodly though or demonic conflict is a complete decision of your will as you submit to the will of God.  The battle is won whenever you do so.

Submitting to God will give you the power you need to overcome every obstacle throughout your life, one day at a time and one battle at a time.  A continual surrendering to God will prevent a sudden collapse from walking with God, which will lead to you experiencing greater agony in your physical, mental, spiritual, financial, family and emotional state.

So, no matter how feeble and weak the enemy may try to tell you that you are, believers are mighty through God and the preaching of the gospel by people of faith and prayer have always brought defeat to the forces of wickedness and darkness.

Believers are always standing on the very brink of an imminent blessing through faith in Christ Jesus.  Allow your faith to arise to a brand new level.  Continue to believe God for your salvation, deliverance, breakthrough and victory over every hard time, adverse condition, demonic activity, painful state, negative circumstance, sinful habit, past mistake, damnable situation and satanic entrapment in the mighty precious name of Jesus Christ.

Allow The Holy Spirit of God to reveal and change the channel of your mind to realize that there’s “Nothing impossible with God.”

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Are You Aware That God Does Some Of His Greatest Work In The Midst Of Your Darkest Hour?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

darkness vs light

Are You Aware That God Does Some Of His Greatest Work In The Midst Of Your Darkest Hour?”

..
Darkness – To some it’s their natural way of life, and to many others, they thrive by living in it.  But wherever darkness is, LIGHT always has the capacity of overpowering its control and maintaining influence over it.  Therefore, LIGHT belongs in a special class of its own.

Light in the Bible is the emblem of knowledge, purity, and truth; as “darkness” is the emblem of ignorance, error, sin, evil, and wretchedness. Light’s illuminating power and potency is only derived from The Word of God and the power of The Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus.

Genesis 1: 2-3 says, “And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light, and there was light.”

Just as you start reading the Bible, you immediately come upon this TRUTH starting in Genesis, where God called into existence Light which had no previous existence in that place.  Additionally, it must be further noted that this appearance of light was not due to the mere development of nature.

From this starting scripture we learn that He not only IS, but that He has a commanding presence with undeniable authority and power.  “He speaks, and it is done; He commands, and it stands fast.”  Light was called forth and overpowered the darkness, all from the creative mandate from God.  And this was the beginning of A New Creation and this work of power and grace is exactly what’s done in the heart of a person who turns to Christ today.

This LIGHT, which IS CHRIST, is still so illuminating and powerful that the message preached by the apostles was not derived from man’s human reasoning, science, or from any traditions imparted from man.  It was received or inspired from the very same Holy Spirit that was in the beginning.

Well, the darkness back then is the very same darkness that wants to hover over you, your family, your finances, your business or careers, and your entire lives today.  But God is the God of your BREAKTHROUGH.  FOR HE STILL CAN WONDERFULLY SAVE, DELIVER, HEAL, PROVIDE FOR, STRENGTHEN, BLESS, AND GRANT VICTORY in the very midst of every hard time, adverse circumstance, negative situation, painful condition, satanic entrapment, and demonic activity all through the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can never face, encounter, or experience any situation that can be so dark in which Christ cannot shine forth in.  For HE IS our Bright and Morning Star, The King of Glory, The Alpha and The Omega, The First and The Last, The Beginning and The End, and HE IS the remedy, cure, and solution to anything that you’re facing.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“What Should You Do When “Goliath” Comes?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Goliath comes

What Should You Do When “Goliath” Comes?”

I have a sign mounted on the wall in front of my desk that says, “Don’t tell God how big your mountain is; tell the mountain how big your God is!”  The sign is there to remind me that we all will face some giants, but what we need is to respond in faith when we’re confronted by them.

You may want to run away in fear, you may try to avoid them and act as if they’ll just go away.  But the giants won’t just go away; they must be confronted and dealt with.  And they can be overcome and defeated!    As you journey through life, battles are inevitable, so you must learn to depend on Christ, take God at His Word, and believe Him for your breakthrough and victory.

In 1st Samuel, Chapter 17, we read a story many of us remember as a child. While we’ve all heard of young, unafraid David and the confrontational Goliath, the Holy Spirit of God has a few things there to reveal, remind and encourage you.

Goliath” represents any damnable hard time, any adverse or abusive circumstance, any negative persecution or stressful situation,  any overwhelming financial crisis, any physical, mental, emotional or spiritually painful condition, any  unshakeable, destructive bad habit or sin, or any surrounding demonic activity or satanic entrapment. Your ‘Goliath’ will confront you, challenge you, oppose you, discourage you and will attempt to defeat you!

You must know that, no matter what ‘Goliath’ confronts you, the love from the cross, and the grace from Christ’s empty tomb is MORE than enough to encourage, sustain and persuade you! In trusting Christ and taking God at His Word  you will daily realize that The Holy Spirit in you will enable you to become a giant killerand that it’s time to TRUST GOD.

In 1st Samuel 17:26, David strongly asks, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

After considering God’s glorious promises and his recent experiences of divine assistance in killing the bear and the lion, David was determined that he would go into battle with the things that had always worked for him in the past. David knew that God, who had always come through in the past, was the very same God who would still come through in this new present situation.

Can you believe that very same Lord that has brought you through trials and challenges before will do it again?  The very same Lord that saved you is more than able to keep you, as you look to Him and stand on His Word.

Initially, David was criticized and even opposed by those he thought supported him. But he trusted God.  Often we too must learn that if God is all we have, He’s really all we need.  So, we must rise and go forward in faith in Jesus Christ and know we can trust him.

David walked into that valley into an impossible situation only because he knew   God had been faithful and would remain faithful.  God had never left him in his dark, dire, and impossible situations, and David believed God would not fail him in this situation either.  And he will not fail you!  If God be for you, who or what can be against you?

You may not see your giants physically fall the very instant you exercise faith in God.  But, don’t let that cause you to lose hope!  For you often cannot believe what the eyes of your flesh see.  But, you can always believe what the eyes of faith see because we walk by faith and not by sight.

So, even if it may look like you’re outgunned, outnumbered and in an impossible situation, remember that it looked that way for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.  It looked that way for Daniel.  It looked that way for the disciples when the storm raged outside their ship.  It certainly looked that way for Jesus as he was lifted high upon that cross.  But God had the final “say-so” in each of these life-changing experiences.

If you want to see the giants in your life lying dead at your feet, you must do as David did.  He believed God was greater than any giant that he could ever face.  He believed that the same Lord that brought him through challenges in the past still reigned on high, and the same sources (prayer, faith, praise, The Word of God and The Holy Spirit) that he used under prior conditions, were always available, and would work under any new challenge!  And that’s still true for you today as you confront the Goliaths in your own life.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Where Do You Go From Here?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

shark

Where Do You Go From Here?”

Sometimes as you go through life, you may have to begin a brand new chapter in your journal by starting all over again.  Initially you may also be filled with questions, anxieties, or uncertainties after being overwhelmed by the things that have happened around you.  But then you’ll have to learn how to proceed from that place of unhappiness or devastation.

This may occur after experiencing the death of a loved one, after a divorce, a job layoff, the foreclosure of a cherished home full of precious memories, after being faced with a long-ranged road of recovery from an unforeseen sickness, an abusive situation, or an addiction of chemical dependency.  It may even come after a heart-wrenching decision to depart from a church you’ve been in for years and not being clear as to where you’re going next.

While God doesn’t promise to immediately unravel or resolve every one of our problems, He does instruct, encourage, and expect us to place our full confidence in Him, for He says in His Word that The Just Shall Live By Faith.” (Habakkuk 2:4)

The Prophet Habakkuk became perplexed and began to wonder, complain, and ask God questions regarding the things that were happening during his day.  Just like many today, he wanted to know:  “Why are the wicked prospering?    Why is God allowing such horrific and sinful crimes to go on?   Why does it seem as if God is silent during these evil times?  And why is God destroying the less evil nation of Judah by permitting a much more wicked nation, like Babylon, to conquer them?”

Finally, in the very midst of all the confusion and difficulties, Habakkuk went up to the watchtower to get alone with God.  There, after praying, he learned to listen to God and hear His answers.  It was there that God revealed to him His ultimate plan for His people.

When a nation turns its face from God, its rebellion or sin will be judged.  So God revealed to the prophet that He was going to use Babylon to afflict Judah, but Babylon’s turn would then come and be blotted out.  But God, in His infinite wisdom and love, would remember His people and give to those that repented and sought His face a more glorious future.

The inspiration, insight, and revelation that Habakkuk received from The Lord was so great that he began to shout a special song of praise and place his total trust in God, despite what was yet occurring around him. (Read Habakkuk 3:17-19)

He realized that “today” is just a small part of God’s eternal plan and that “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His Purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

You too must come to realize that in the midst of every tribulation and in the darkness of every storm filled with misery, it’s through faith in Christ and standing firm on God’s promises that we will find ourselves being sustained, comforted, and strengthened by His Holy Spirit.  So, know that whatever you’re going through today, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!

Whenever you’re tossed, perplexed, and being overwhelmed by the circumstances around you, remember God’s precious promises to you that are in His Word.   For our hope is anchored in Christ.

Observe, adhere to, and obey the answers given in His Word which are anointed and made alive through The Holy Spirit of God.  Then will you hear what Christ has to say to you in every situation.

Habakkuk learned and prophesied that those who wait to hear His Voice will not be disappointed.  Though the answer may seem as if it’s being deferred, it will come and be made abundantly clear as you wait on The Lord.

Just like a shipwrecked survivor will cling to a life preserver, we too must hold fast to God’s Living Promises, for He alone is Our Salvation, Security, Protector, and Deliverer.  Neither Christ nor His Word is confined, limited, or powerless to hard times, adverse circumstances, negative situations, painful conditions, or the demonic activity that surrounds us.

Then at the very end of our road, we shall find our great eternal reward through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
