“Are You Showing The Devil That You Don’t Believe That You’re Defeated?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

Are You Showing The Devil That You Don’t Believe That You’re Defeated?”

Are you counting on God for your breakthrough and victory?  The Cross and The Resurrection of Christ is our assurance that God has given us the victory over all of our enemies in every conflict that we face, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Today, many people are now facing some of the most horrific situations that they’ve ever encountered before.   Lives are being destroyed by drug addiction or chemical dependency.  Financial hardship is crushing homes, abusiveness is crippling lives and time won’t permit me here to list all of the other demonic activities or satanic entrapments that are wreaking havoc throughout our cities today.

As the powers of darkness are opposing you, wishful thinking or mere hoping will not resolve your dilemma or cure your situation.   Trying to handle matters on your very own really won’t work out well for you either.  Only the power and authority of God’s Word through faith in Jesus Christ will.

One has only to pick up the Bible and start reading from the beginning to discover God’s Eternal Existence, His Supremacy, His Authority, His Power and His Grace.

Well, Don’t You Know That You Completely Surprise The Devil When You Rise Up In His Face In Faith, In The Name Of Jesus Christ, And Stand On God’s Word?

The powers of darkness never expect you to do that.  Satan though you were defeated!  NO!!!   More so, he thought you even thought that you were defeated and finished.   So stand up and show the devil that you don’t believe that you’re defeated by glorifying Christ and going forward.

Publicly declare that the crisis you’re experiencing will NOT take you down, out or under and it’s just another opportunity for you to encounter the grace and power of The Lord Jesus Christ.  Then start celebrating and glorifying Christ for your breakthrough the moment you turn things over to The Lord.

Remember the true and precious words in a song which said, Don’t wait till the battle is over, shout now.  For you know in the end we’re going to win!”

Celebrating is a great part of victory.  Celebrate with those who may have helped, assisted, aided, showed kindness or been involved with you throughout your situation.  But don’t be surprised after its all over how many others will show up to claim to have been one in spirit with you all along.

We too must learn what David discovered, that God Almighty is The Lord Of The Breakthrough.”

In 2nd Samuel chapter 5, once again we read of the enemy forces attacking David and the nation of Israel.  But, we also read about God’s supernatural divine intervention in their midst.

2nd Samuel 5:20 NLT says,So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The LORD did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”).

As a soldier who placed his confidence in God, David asked for a plan of attack from God, who was his real commander-in-chief.  God so mightily moved, David declared it was like water bursting through the wall of a dam which quickly brought destruction to everything that was in its way.

By acting in perfect obedience, David succeeded where King Saul had failed and totally defeated the Philistines.  Obedience to God’s instructions or Word was David’s key to experiencing the miraculous intervention of God.

Obedience and Praise are THE KEYS TO YOUR BREAKTHROUGH.  Make a conscious decision to spend time with God in daily fellowship and praise.  Then you’ll be able to see the mighty hand of God move in your midst.

While salvation is free, it didn’t come cheap!  It cost God the very best He had to offer, HIS SON!   Now, Christ is able to bring salvation, deliverance and grace right into your midst, but give Him your undivided attention.  In doing so you’re showing the devil that you’re Not defeated and that you’re trusting Jesus and moving forward.

Romans 8:31 NIV then says,What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

If The Holy Spirit of God is engaged to bring us through, which of our enemies can withstand His awesome Word and mighty outstretched hand?   NONE CAN!!!

“Why Is It That Believers Often Fail To Pray?”

Today’s Daily Devotional From Pastor Andrew Bills

fail to pray

Why Is It That Believers Often Fail To Pray?”

Have you missed your time with Him?  Perhaps you’ve neglected time with God because of doubt, too busy of a schedule, or your lack of understanding of the effects and power of prayer, both in the spiritual realm and in the physical realm of your life. God wants you to establish a LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, which involves communication. He wants you to realize that when you pray, HE WILL MOVE IN YOUR LIFE AND CIRCUMSTANCES. But if you don’t pray, you ‘re limiting the power of God in your life.

As we look at Biblical and secular history, there should be no doubt that prayer has brought salvation to the lost, healing to the sick, strength to the weak, food to the hungry,  life to the dead, deliverance to the oppressed and victory to those facing defeat.   God has a lengthy, faithful and proven history of impacting the lives of those who chose to pray.

While prayer is one of the most talked about subjects in our churches, ministry broadcasts, and Christian circles today, WHY HASN’T PRAYER BECOME THE  PRIORITY IN THE LIVES OF EVERY BELIEVER?

Christians will talk about prayer, say that they believe in prayer, and can even explain the importance of prayer, BUT WHY IS PRAYER SO OFTEN NEGLECTED?

Do you know that Satan doesn’t want you inspired, encouraged, strengthened, growing in faith, delivered, joyful and blessed?  He knows that if he can keep you miserable, fearful, doubtful, discouraged, stressed, mad and weak, then you’ll  remain helpless, hopeless, frustrated, PRAYER-LESS, wandering aimlessly through life and even mad at God.  For the devil knows that it’s in prayer that a believer encounters and experiences God.

The devil has even convinced some of you that all the promises of God are for someone else, but not you.  But, that’s a lie from the very pit of hell.

The power of effective prayer can be seen in the lives of many throughout the pages of scripture.  Through prayer, Hannah, who was childless, prayed and Samuel was born. (Read 1st Samuel, Chapter 1-2)

Through prayer, Elijah changed the weather conditions and it didn’t rain for 3 ½ years in Israel. (Read 1st Kings, Chapter 17)

Through prayer, Hezekiah was healed and 15 more years were added to his life. (Read 2nd Kings, Chapter 20).

The Lord Jesus Christ himself gave us many wonderful promises regarding prayer and how He would move in our lives and affairs if you would seek God’s face and stand on His Word.  (Read John 15:7)

In Luke 18:1 The Lord Jesus himself said that “Men should always pray and not faint.”  We clearly need to understand that in itself, prayer is not the answer.  GOD IS!”  But, He has instructed us and still encourages believers to involve Him in every aspect of their lives by having an intimate communion with Christ through prayer.

Did you know that when you pray, God releases angels to stand right by your side?  Yes, these ministering spirits are dispatched from the very throne-room of God to stand guard and protect as you’re trusting Christ.

There’s nothing too hard for The Lord to do, but without prevailing or effective prayer, you’ll only get what life throws at you.  So, why should you settle for anything less than walking in God’s Spirit and experiencing His mighty hand and wonderful grace at work in your life?

Learn to put prayer first!  There’s nothing better than to arise early and start your day off with prayer.  Learn to schedule your entire day around your communication and time of intimacy with your Heavenly Father.   He guarantees that your life will never be the same.

“Is There Anything Keeping You From Experiencing The Power Of God In Your Life?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

the power of God

Is There Anything Keeping You From Experiencing The Power Of God In Your Life?”

Does your life exemplify faith in Jesus Christ or are you the only person that knows about it?  Having faith in Christ will have a profound effect, not only in your personal life, but upon those all around you.

In Luke 5: 17-26, we are given quite the awe-inspiring biblical account of a small group of people that wouldn’t allow any obstacle, hindrance, hurdle, disappointment or any  discouragement prevent them from meeting Jesus.

It’s a message of faith, endurance, perseverance, confidence, courage, love and the grace of God.  It’s a clear message of truth that reveals that your ability to stay with what you believe determines your outcome.  If you yield to anything else, you will experience failure.  Therefore, don’t abandon your belief due to any adverse or tough circumstance when you face them.

Verse 5 says, “…and the power of the Lord was present for him (Jesus) to heal them.”

In this account we are given the story of the 4 persistent men which were carrying a paralyzed man on a stretcher to be healed by Jesus.  Then, not to be undone because of the large multitude blocking a direct route to Jesus, they sought for an alternate entry.  So they climbed upon the roof, hoisting their stretcher born invalid occupant, and then they began to tear through the roof  lowering him down to Jesus in front of the disciples and many other witnesses.

Then verse 20 says, “And when he (Jesus) saw their faith, he said unto him…”

Do You Have Faith That God Can See?   So often, nothing will change unless you demonstrate your faith in action.  Having good intentions isn’t the same as demonstrating faith.  Faith in action is pure obedience and obedience is the key to the miraculous or supernatural blessings from God.

In this case, the first obstacle was getting through the crowd of people, then the second was the roof which separated them from Jesus.

What’s keeping you from experiencing the power of God in your life?  Is it a lack of knowledge?  Unsure if God’s promises will work for your situation?  Unbelief, doubt, lack of obedience, fear?  Sin?   Is all of your attention and energy so fixed on your problem instead of the cure through GOD’S WORD and GOD’S GRACE?

How often have people enter prayer lines and had hands laid on them, then once back to their seat, they check to see if anything has happened in their body.  If they still feel the problem in their body, they quickly conclude that God didn’t heal them and they go home confused, disappointed, and even angry.

It’s not how desperate you are that determines whether you will receive or not.   The only thing the matters is do you trust in God’s Word and are you acting in faith to connect to His power?

Remember, in this biblical account, faith was not required to cause God’s grace and power to be present.  But, it indeed did require faith to benefit from Grace and Power that was already present.   There is NO shortage of God’s Grace or God’s Power today.  There’s only a shortage of people willing to take God at His Word and forever stand in confidence on it.

Through faith, The Holy Spirit of God will enable believers to achieve or accomplish many different things that will bring glory to God.  The ability to overcome any temptation, force of darkness or any negative situation fully rests upon you taking God at His Word, Trusting Christ and believing In His Wonderful Grace.

“How Great Is God To You?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

greatness of God

How Great Is God To You?”

As I laid in the hospital recently and reflected on all of The Lord’s previous blessings throughout my life, I sensed this question being asked, “How Great Is God To You?”

God has a very lengthy history of saving, providing for, healing, comforting, delivering, and blessing those who call on His Name and stand in faith on His Word, by His Grace.  There’s nothing you’re going through or can ever experience that’s greater than God, The Lord Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit and The Word Of God.

So, if you’re praying and believing God in faith, and it doesn’t appear as if anything positive or supernatural is happening, and you’re having concerns because you’re feeling pressure, here’s just a little insight to help you towards remaining confident that God will completely move in and orchestrate your affair…

Tell yourself and confess it out loud that not only is my God greater than this crisis, hard time or painful condition, but according to Ephesians 3:20-21,  “God is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, and to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”

The Apostle Paul concludes his great intercessory prayer with a glorious high note of praise.  Encouraged by what Christ has already done in the hearts of the new converts throughout the world, he then assures them of God’s unimaginable grace which is available towards every believer.

God’s grace is just so amazing, that His abundance is far beyond our comprehension.  Unlimited, unrestricted and unmeasurable, the grace that moves in our hearts and lives is the direct result of the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

We are to glorify our risen savior and celebrate the power of God.  If Jesus Christ, by the finger if God could cast out demons and overcome strongholds, The Spirit of God can today move in our lives to such an extent that we cannot begin to even imagine or express.

This is wonderful encouragement to all that are troubled, broken-hearted, experiencing painful conditions, encountering difficulties, facing oppositions, seeking deliverance or just waiting for doors to be opened.

God is more than able to help, comfort, strengthen and support us through any type of adversity.  He is more than enough when you seek His face during any time of need.  His grace is so inexhaustible, that He wants you to step forward, draw closer, touch and extract from Him.

No matter what you’re facing or dealing with, His grace must not be limited to your intellect nor His goodness restricted to your senses.  His compassion is greater than our emotional feelings and His capabilities greater than our understanding.

Through Christ in us, God can accomplish more than you could ever conceive.  God has promised so many wonderful spiritual blessings in His Word, which are all predicated on what happened on the cross at Calvary which are all now guaranteed by Christ’s Resurrection.

God knows what we want before we ask and he has made provisions for his people before they ask for them.  The greater the need, the greater the grace and He’s provided your provision long before you ever encountered the problem you’re now facing.   So remember that there’s nothing too hard for God to do.

“Are You Aware That God Has Allowed You To Be Where You Are To Impact Your Surroundings Through Him?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

impacting lives

Are You Aware That God Has Allowed You To Be Where You Are To Impact Your Surroundings Through Him?”

So often believers complain about their current situations in life instead of bringing Faith To That Place then touching and blessing the lives of others under those same negative, adverse or distressful conditions and circumstances.

Wherever The Spirit of God has you, He’s not only able to sustain you but you’re there to impact your surroundings for Christ.  While there is no place on earth free from trials, tribulations, unbelief, fear and temptations, whatever place you now find yourself in, you’re being allowed to pass through there to let your light shine in the midst of that darkness through His Word and Holy Spirit.

In the 12th chapter of the book of Genesis, we read of the calling and the leading of Abram who later became Abraham.

Genesis 12: 1-3 NIV says,The LORD had said to Abram, Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

God not only made this promise to Abram, but put His Word, Favor and Grace upon his life as he began his journey of faith.  Please take note again at God’s promise to Abram, especially where The Lord informed him that “you will be a blessing and I will bless those who bless you.”

Upon his arrival, the land of Canaan which had been very fruitful, was now experiencing a severe drought and famine.  Abram, who had left his land where there were plenty of provisions, now arrives in a place where there’s only lack.   The appearance of those severe or negative conditions led his mind to think that this could not be the place of blessing or where God was leading him.

So instead of believing God’s word, impacting the surrounding by faith, trusting in The Lord to make changes in that land and telling the others about His God, Abram flees.

He journeyed on southward, from where God wanted him to be, into Egypt where he fell into sin, error and encountered new troubles, which could have cost his life if not for the divine intervention of God.  Then once he was ordered out of Egypt, he returned back into the land of Canaan.

Just like Abram, all believers have been called to walk by faith, trust God despite the appearance of negative circumstances and impact our world through God.  Can the unbelievers around you see The Living Christ within you?   The only way they’ll see God is through your life.  Are you giving them a good view of Christ?

Instead of complaining, crying, cursing, taking matter into your own hands and doing negative things, believers should be bringing inspirational to a dying world.  Colossians 1:27 says that “Christ in you is the hope of glory.”

Whatever you’re going through or have been delivered from, The Lord is giving you the opportunity to share your testimony about His Love, Power and Grace to impact others around you.

Therefore allow Christ, through His Word and Holy Spirit, to reign in your life.  Christ in you and you in Christ makes the difference as you go through diverse situations in this life.  Regardless of the trials that may come your way, let your light shine and remain faithful unto Him that you may receive the crown of life through Jesus Christ.

“Are You Being Tempted By The Beautiful Side Of Evil?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

beautiful side of evil 1

Are You Being Tempted  By  The Beautiful Side Of Evil?”

There’s a struggle going on within us, that’s a greater battle than any historic war that has ever been fought.  And in this warfare, there are two voices in our lives which are daily clamoring for your attention.

One is the still small voice of The Holy Spirit of God, who’s always instructing you, according to Colossians 3:2 NASB, to “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” As you follow this voice, you will find peace, love, joy, and contentment.

If you remain attuned to Him, you’ll be reminded of who you are in Christ and who Christ is within you.  And you’ll learn how to faithfully act or respond in various situations in life and continue on your journey, pleasing God.

But the other voice is from the greatest deceiver, the evil one – Satan – The Devil, who’s always presenting a beautiful side of evil.  He desires to kill, steal and destroy and wants to lure you down a pathway that will always end in sin, misery, shame, darkness, defeat, and even death.

While toying with your emotions, he suggests things that play on your insecurities, inhibitions, frailties, intimate desires, deepest fears and past failures in life.  He will entice you to yearn for and seek after things that are forbidden in scripture, things that will cause you to violate the word of God and act in selfish, unproductive and ungodly ways.

In James 1:15 God says,Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.”

This simply means that the things that may seem extremely wonderful, enticing, attractive and even so easy to want, could kill your spirit and your life. His suggestions or invitations that cause you to yield to his temptations ALWAYS result in paying too high of a price and you experiencing untold negative consequences for your actions.

Sin may seem like a small matter in its planning stage or commencement, but as it grows it will consume you beyond all calculation.  As a Christian, you must seek for ways  NOT  to become blinded by this deceive.  You must learn to rise above your circumstances and yield yourself to God instead of Satan’s traps.

In conclusion, please remember the insightful words for our Lord Jesus Christ from Mark 14:38 where He said, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. For the spirit is indeed willing, but the body is weak.”

“Why Did Only The Wise Men See The Star?”

Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

3 wise men

Why Did Only The Wise Men See The Star?”

For over 2,000 years the details about “this star” has baffled scholars, bewildered astronomers and simply intrigued believers.

In Matthew 2:1-2 we given the following details, “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews?  For we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.”

While many believers hold to the theory that the “star” was not a natural phenomenon at all, but rather was a special star or light placed by God in the atmosphere for the Magi to see, they were the only ones truly interested in seeking Him and God always reveals Himself to those who earnestly seek and are hungry for Him.

Then and then only will people begin to envision  what others can’t see, don’t want to see, are too busy to see or just aren’t interested in seeing.

Continuing in the story, King Herod immediately summoned the priests and scribes and demanded information pertaining to this.  They provided the answer and even gave the location out of the Old Testament scrolls, but notice:  No one else was interested enough or concerned at all to go with the wise men to find Jesus and worship Him.

Once the wise men and their entourage left Jerusalem, or came out from the place of unbelief and darkness, they were filled with exceeding joy when the star re-appeared and directed them to the baby Jesus, where they worshipped Him and gave Him gifts.

Then they departed into their own country another way.  Not only does this make reference to them taking another route home, but it spiritually makes reference to the great change in a person’s life after they’ve come to Christ and worshipped Him.  From that point onwards, you’ll life too should never be the same.

Today, wise men are still seeking after Him, Are You One Of Them?

“Have You Ever Felt Like Giving Up As You Waited On The Lord?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

waiting on the Lord

Have You Ever Felt Like Giving Up As You Waited On The Lord?

Whenever hard times, negative situations, and painful conditions arise in our midst, we must believe to see, not see to believe, that our Lord will mightily move in our lives.  You must remember that wherever a believer is, he or she can always find a way to the throne of grace through prayer and trusting God for His Divine Intervention.

Today, many only feel like giving up because they don’t sense God’s presence as they’re focusing on their gloomy situation instead of giving Christ their undivided attention, standing on God’s Word, and listening to the voice of The Holy Spirit.  But The Lord wants to enlarge your testimony and mature your faith as you learn to prevail and pierce through the darkness around you.  For this is not a time to give up, but your hour to BELIEVE HIM!

Now, a special word of assurance and an encouraging testimony is found in Psalms 27:13 where David said,I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”

Evil had raised its hand as many false witnesses rose up against David and threatened to destroy both his life and the lives of his friends.  The opposition was so numerous, mighty and fierce that everything physically appeared helpless, hopeless, useless and that death was at hand.

Yet David said that his only support was his faith in God and his belief that he would yet be permitted to see the goodness of God upon the earth.  Here David does not speak of a faith that he once had, but of the faith, confidence, and assurance that he now has.  But what was this confidence grounded in?

He believed, trusted and relied on The Word and The Promises of God.  Then with this deep internal conviction, he had the fullest belief that God would intervene to save, heal, provide and change his present circumstances by delivering him out of the hands of his enemies.

His faith in God was sufficient enough to calm his mind and sustain him under those stressful and heart-wrenching conditions. This psalm clearly revealed David’s state of heart and mind despite the efforts of his enemies to destroy him. David firmly believed in God’s Presence, and by seeking His Face, he was trusting God for His Divine Guidance and His Almighty Invisible Protection.  As the result of this God brought great deliverance and victory into His life.

In times of affliction, perplexity, and discouragement, you too can have this same assurance because of God’s Love, Grace and Power promised to all believers through His Word and by His Holy Spirit.

Waiting on The Lord does not mean sitting idle on your living room sofa or a park bench just hoping for anything to happen in your midst.  NO!  Waiting on The Lord means standing in faith and waiting with great expectation.  Waiting on The Lord means that you’re praising God for having heard your prayer and thanking Him in advance for His Divine Intervention.

Waiting on The Lord means “Standing In Faith” and standing is an act of aggression and strength.  Waiting on The Lord means that you’re piercing through the darkness in prevailing prayer as you’re standing in faith.  Standing In Faith means that that you are refusing to accept circumstances or the conditions the way they are and you are believing God for great changes, according to His promises in His Word.

As you look to Our Mighty Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, through fervent prayer and faith, you too can be delivered from the hands of the enemy that’s oppressing you.  So remain encouraged and wait on the Lord with great expectation with the full assurance that God will also mightily intervene in your life.

“How Can I Rebound From Defeat Or Start Over After Disappointments?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

How Can I Rebound From Defeat Or Start Over After Disappointments?”

My daughter was a professional basketball player for many years but one of the greatest insights that I’ve ever received from the Lord came at the end of one of her high school freshman games.

It had been a very tight and hard played game. The score was tied and with less than 30 seconds remaining, our team had the ball running down the court as the ball was quickly passed to her. She quickly took aim, then the ball took its flight but the basket was missed. Then, after much scrambling, somehow the ball found its way right back into my daughter’s hands.

Suddenly, with only a couple of seconds remaining, again she took aim. But this time there appeared to be a difference. Having had the bad experience of previously missing, her aim was now more carefully and skillfully planned. She was better positioned, there was a new sparkle in her eye and a new smile on her face, she knew the score and she was more confident as she aimed.

Then, just as the ball left her hands, the buzzer sounded and a great hush fell over the crowd as all eyes were on the ball. Suddenly, there was the sound of the ball snapping into the basket and the crowd going wild as our team began to celebrate its victory.

Just then, as people were celebrating everywhere, The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart revealing what it takes to “rebound from defeat.”

Have you ever missed the mark? Have you ever tried and failed? Have you ever experienced any type of set-backs?Have you ever made any serious mistakes that you thought you’d never recover from? Do you feel confused, fractured or wounded? Have your ambitions been crushed? Do you want to be made whole?

The Holy Spirit spoke the words from Psalms 34:19 which says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”

You can learn to leave your wounded past behind. You can start over after disappointments.  If your dreams have been shattered, you can rediscover how to refocus on your vision. God can bring great blessing through times of great failure, sickness, tragedy and even discouragement. You can recover loss dreams and rediscover your cutting edge.

So, open your heart to the healing power of Jesus Christ today. Take another look at the promises of God and rediscover His Grace and be renewed through faith in Jesus Christ. Allow God’s Holy Spirit to speak directly to your heart the encouraging words from The Holy Scriptures today.
