“Can You See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel?”

Today’s Daily Devotional  from Pastor Andrew Bills

light at the end of the tunnel

Can You See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel?”

Why does it is easier to see God in the brightness of a beautiful glorious day than it is to trust Him in the darkness of a cold stormy night?  Is He not the same?  Of course He is!

While many begin questioning God and are busy trying to understand why God allows storms and heartache in their lives, our focus should not be on the “WHY” but on Christ Himself, His love, His word, His power and what He can do in our midst.

Although it may appear that you’re being pushed to the limit, the pain, struggles, heartaches and attacks that you’re presently experiencing are in your life to mature your faith and mold you into greatness. For Christ has not forgotten or forsaken you and soon your weeping will turn to joy.

For one of the most comforting verses in all of scripture is found in Matthew 12:20 NIV which says, “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory.”

What is more weak, delicate or feeble than a cracked reed or a wick barely flickering, about to go out?  Even though these characteristics may be used to describe something as useless, it’s more descriptive of His compassion towards us in our weakest hour, state or condition.

A bruised reed depicts those who have been oppressed, beaten up, beaten down, severely wounded and even left for dead by the effects in this sinful world. They are broken by life, damaged in their hearts and minds, and are experiencing helplessness and hopelessness in their present situation.  They are in need of a fresh revelation, a new beginning, with renewed comfort, strength, guidance, stability and victory in their life.

A smoldering wick refers to the wick of an oil lamp or a candle where the flame is exhausted, barely flickering, dying but not yet completely vanquished or dead.

The compassion of Christ is such that He binds up broken hearts, heals wounds, restores and comforts to them back to fullness of life.  For God has promised that He will not neglect, break, be cruel or destroy you, but will forgive, heal, pardon and give new life to all those that trust Him and call on His name.  He will not allow your hope to become extinguished and your faith to become extinct.

Christ will graciously blow His grace upon the smoldering sparks, re-igniting it into a full fiery blaze and never leave you alone until your journey or work has been completed here on earth.   Under the anointing and influence of His Holy Spirit, He will strengthen you onward, making you more than a conqueror over the enemy, until He takes you home.

Yes, not only is there a light at the end of the tunnel for you, but as you look to Jesus, HE IS THE EVER PRESENT LIGHT that is with you no matter how great the darkness surrounding you. And no darkness can or will ever overcome Him.

“Are You Trusting Christ No Matter How Impossible It May Seem?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

trusting Jesus

Are You Trusting Christ No Matter How Impossible It May Seem?”

As we suffer the effects of a fallen world, the attacks against believers are growing stronger as Satan continues to try to discourage Christians in an attempt to prevent our various acts of faith.

As troubles may seem unending and we often may grow weary, at the very core of our hearts is our expectancy of God’s divine intervention, miraculous grace and even the hope of His soon return.   But until then, you must have the confidence that whatever adverse circumstance, negative situation, painful condition or demonic activity you’re facing, your struggle is under His authority and He’s orchestrating in your affairs for His glory and your best.

Having experienced a great parade of heart-wrenching attacks in my own personal life over the many years, I have continually gone back to the  Holy Scriptures for answers, insight, help, assurance and strength.

In Exodus chapter 14, we read the familiar story of God leading Moses and the Israelites out of Egypt.  God was leading Moses by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.

As they came to the banks of The Red Sea, Pharaoh and his army were in hot pursuit of them.  Fear gripped the Israelites’ hearts and they began to complain unto Moses.  Moses, seeing the rapidly approaching enemy, told the people, “The Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.  The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Moses, then following God’s instructions, lifted his staff over the waters of The Red Sea and they divided.  But notice God’s next move:  The pillar that had been leading them suddenly moved to their rear and was now protecting them, keeping the attacking army back from conquering them.  While the pillar continued to provide light to Moses and the Israelites, it provided an impassable thick darkness to Pharaoh and his army.

All of the adverse circumstances were fully “UNDER GOD’S CONTROL AND AUTHORITY.”  Throughout that entire night, Moses and the Israelites walked through the parted waters of The Red Sea on totally dry ground until they reached the other side.  Then “the angel of The Lord” who was “The Pre-Incarnate Jesus Christ Himself” as the pillar of fire removed so Pharaoh and his army could then pursue Israel into The Red Sea where they all met their destruction.

The Word of God is our compass or guide towards piercing through, overcoming and breaking out of any difficult circumstance through maintaining faith in Christ and listen to the voice of The Holy Spirit of God.

Will you continue to trust Him even if you can’t see or don’t understand what He’s doing?  He has your best interest in His heart.

“Did You Know That God Is Your Only Way Through Your Situation?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

wrecking ball

Did You Know That God Is Your Only Way Through Your Situation?”

Are you dependent upon God for your breakthrough and victory?  The Cross and The Resurrection of Christ is our assurance that God has given us the victory over all of our enemies in every conflict that we face, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Today, many people are now facing some of the most horrific situations that they’ve ever encountered in their lives.   Lives are being destroyed by drug addiction or chemical dependency.  Abusiveness is crushing homes and crippling lives, and time won’t permit me here to list all of the other demonic activities or satanic entrapments that are wreaking havoc throughout our cities today.

As the powers of darkness are opposing you, wishful thinking or mere hoping will not resolve your dilemma or cure your situation.  And trying to handle matters on your very own really hasn’t worked for you either.  Only the power and authority of God’s Word, through faith in Jesus Christ will.

One has only to pick up the Bible and start reading from the beginning to discover God’s Eternal Existence, His Supremacy, His Authority and His Power.

Well, Don’t You Know That You Completely Surprise The Devil When You Rise Up In His Face In Faith, In The Name Of Jesus Christ, And Stand On God’s Word?  The powers of darkness never really expect you to do that.  Satan though you were defeated!  NO!!!  More so, he thought you even thought that you were defeated and finished.

We too must learn what David discovered, that God Almighty is The Lord Of The Breakthrough.”

In 2nd Samuel chapter 5, once again we read of the enemy forces attacking David and the nation of Israel.  But, we also read about God’s supernatural divine intervention in their midst.

2nd Samuel 5:20 NLT says,So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The LORD did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”).

As a soldier who placed his confidence in God, David asked for a plan of attack from God, who was his real commander-in-chief.  God so mightily moved, David declared it was like water bursting through an opposing dam which quickly brought destruction to everything that was in its way.

By acting in perfect obedience, David succeeded where King Saul had failed and totally defeated the Philistines.  Obedience to God’s instructions or Word was David’s key to experiencing the miraculous intervention of God.

Obedience is also THE KEY TO YOUR BREAKTHROUGH.  You must make a conscious decision to spend time with God in daily fellowship and studying His Word.  Then you’ll be able to take over your situation and see the mighty hand of God move in your very midst.

While salvation is free, it didn’t come cheap!  It cost God the very best He had to offer, HIS SON!   Now, Christ is able to bring salvation, deliverance and grace right into your midst, but are you really ready to give Him your undivided attention?  How bad do you really need and want Him to move in your life and circumstances?

Romans 8:31 NIV then says,What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

If The Holy Spirit of God is engaged to bring us through, which of our enemies can withstand His awesome Word and mighty outstretched hand?   NONE CAN!!!

“Does Evil Seem Like It’s Winning In Our World?”

Today’s Daily Devotional from Pastor Andrew Bills

united people

Does Evil Seem Like It’s Winning In Our World?

A few days ago innocent people were attacked and one person killed at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at Terminal 3 by a young deranged man with a troubled background with a gun.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve experienced a massacre upon innocent runners, bystanders and citizens and their families in Boston, Massachusetts at the marathon race, a massacre upon innocent children and their loving teachers at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, a massacre at a movie theatre in the state of Colorado and there have been many other violent, evil, cowardly, shameless and senseless acts in our different streets, neighborhoods and cities.

But again, despite all the suffering, hurt, pain and grief that we’re now experiencing from these acts, EVIL WILL NOT WIN!

A great public rally cry is again continuing to sound and the Church of Jesus Christ is awakening to prayer. A great sense of decency is bringing people together, people who have laid down their differences and forgot about their divisions to become one with the hurting and are making it known that such  EVIL ACTIONS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND NOT ALLOWED TO WIN.

So, my brothers & sisters in Christ, let’s pray for those injured and suffering, let’s pray for the paramedics, doctors and all the members of the medical staffs and let’s pray for all the agencies and churches that are working to bring relief and care to those hurting and crying.

Then let’s also pray for our law enforcement teams that through their dedicated investigations, they will not only find and bring to justice those responsible for these senseless, cowardly and demonic acts, but try to develop new preventative measures and solutions to protect people and also discover and divert these actions before they occur.

In Romans 12:21 The Apostle Paul states, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

We must not allow ourselves to become vanquished, subdued, or defeated by the actions of any evil or soul-less individual, organizations or groups.  As we will continue to stand against all evil activity and opposition, we must not step down to the level of any ungodly circumstance, abandon our principles of faith, nullify our prayers or forget about God’s future judgment and His eternal plans.

Faith alone in God will once again help us to advance in our world against these elements of corruption. Since the gospel has been preached, people over the past centuries have maintained the Christian principle of learning how to overcome evil with good.

So with the aid of His Holy Spirit, we will continue to stand, work to restrain and prevent evil from claiming supremacy over our lives.  We must continue to show proof that His love and grace does yet abide today, that the evils in this world will not overcome us and that we will stand together, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

One day, all will stand before Our Mighty Lord and be judged for all their ungodly actions but the righteous will forever be with Our Lord.  EVIL WILL NEVER WIN!   NOT NOW OR NEVER!
