Are You Ignoring The Warning Signs?”

Jim is driving his car but is failing to listen to his engine because he’s only concerned about his destination and how fast he can get there. Suddenly, the car jerks, the lights on the dash all come on, there’s a loud rattle under the car, smoke begins to steam from the hood as the car breaks down and he’s forced to pull over to the side of the road and be left stranded. He ignored the noise in his engine, and also that the tires were going bald, losing air and that his tank was particularly empty. But, things didn’t have to end up this like this.

Now, in the very same way, we are often like Jim, losing our focus, misplacing our priorities, deceiving ourselves, lowering our standards, not willing to admit when something is going wrong and not willing to make changes until its too late.

The attitude, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is NOT good common sense but a distraction against routine examinations or constant care.  That mentality is also the enemy of spiritual wisdom and innovation, especially when there’s a need for change, growth and advancement.

The Apostle Paul said, in 2nd Corinthians 13:5 NIV, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you–unless, of course, you fail the test?

Are you really walking by faith and trusting The Lord Jesus Christ?  Are you living a life that’s pleasing to God?  Are you walking in His Will and allowing Him to direct your actions through His Holy Spirit as you stand on His Word?  Are you trusting Christ to be your true Source?

Ignoring warning signs or signals can lead to yielding to temptation, experiencing great suffering and can even prove to be fatal.  Listen and pay close attention, follow the leading of God’s Holy Spirit and fully surrender to Christ and His Word.  Know that God has always had your best interests in His heart and mind.

As you’re walking in faith,  learning to be “pro-active” will always have a greater effect instead of not identifying a problem and then waiting for it to get out of control. Start by paying closer attention, even to what’s not obvious, with things that aren’t broke or aren’t a problem yet.  Seek the face of God, learn to be more creative and even think “outside of the box” as you seek to do a work for the Lord.

Yes, things left unchecked will cause you great anguish, bitter defeat and even bring total ruin. You need to realize that you are not invincible and there are no exceptions to the rules. Much can be avoided if you will start to pay closer attention, listen to the noises, follow the warning signs and take preventive measures to remain in good condition and strong fellowship in Christ.

Make the time to keep your mind renewed, just like a car needs a periodic check-up or service. You must take some quality time and look under your hood. So, Keep God’s Word ever before you, maintain a prayer relationship with God, walk in faith and again follow the leadings of The Holy Spirit.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

How Should You Handle Stinging Criticism, Ugly Comments And Negative Remarks From Others?

Isn’t it simply amazing how people will rise up to criticize you when you start doing something for Jesus?  How should you handle stinging criticism, ugly accusations, vicious slander, unkind comments and negative remarks when they come your way to discourage and attack?

In the gospel of Luke 7:36-48, we are given the familiar story of Jesus and His disciples dining at the house of a Pharisee, called Simon the leper.  During that feast, a woman carrying an alabaster jar of very expense perfume approached Him and after opening it poured the perfume on Jesus’ head and feet.  Then, while weeping, she began wiping the perfume from His feet with her hair and kissed His feet in complete adoration of Him.

While the beautiful fragrance was wonderfully still in the air, many were troubled by this entire scene.  Some challenged the waste of such an expensive perfume, scoffing that it could’ve been sold for a lot of money and given to the poor.  But, during the very midst of vicious stares, gossip and even name calling, she didn’t allow the shamefulness or the embarrassment of even being called “a sinner,” discourages or detour her away.

They began to condemn the fact that Jesus would allow such a vile creature and notorious sinner to do such a thing, let alone enter His presence.  And many therefore concluded that since he didn’t know her character and didn’t rebuke her then he couldn’t really be a prophet.  But, Jesus came into this world to seek and save the LOST and today, we must never forget our main mission is to continue to carrying on as ambassadors for Christ.

This woman not only did what she felt led to do in her heart and soul, but did so in the very face of slanderous remarks and negative criticism.  Where she had earlier met Jesus, or with what message of His that had brought life to her dead heart and light to her soul, we are not aware of.  But, her love for her Savior was greater than the slander of men.  Her humility poured from out from a heart that had been healed, forgiven and changed.  Her dedication was so pure that she totally discounted the expense of her offering and the negativity of men.  Her only focus was on loving The Lord because the mercy and grace shown to her by Christ was far greater than the ugly comments from men.

In our world, criticism is something that unavoidable and inevitable.  And if you try to make everybody happy and to love you, you’re just wasting your time and energy.  While Satan will always try to use criticism to produce a stinging effect upon your mind, but you as a believer must weight it against the love, mercy, forgiveness, healing, deliverance and saving grace shown by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What has He done in your heart and life?  What blessings has He done in your life or home?  Once you’ve counted His blessings, are you ready to pick up your cross and follow Him daily?

Often, the greatest sting and ugliest or most negative comments Satan will bring from the mouths of those that are the closest to you:  family members, relatives or the closest friends.   But, we must allow the peace of God to guard our hearts and not become distracted from our worship and fellowship with and service to God.

Jesus was so moved by her passionate and genuine act of devotion that He forever immortalized her by saying, “Wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”  (Mark 14:9)

And Christ today is still moved as we demonstrate passionate and genuine acts of devotion to Him as we reach out to touch and impact the lives of others as we are led from a heart filled with love for Him.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

“Are You One Of The Lord’s Heroes Of Faith?”

A hero is a person who, despite a dangerous, distressful or dismal circumstance chose to bravely respond or act in the midst of that dark situation. Heroes are not perfect people but are those who chose to rise above and look beyond the present conditions and were driven to act.

Well today, you too can be an example of one of God’s heroes by not allowing your life to be characterized by your falling down, but by your rising up. Many people choose to stay down but today’s heroes of faith realize that God has created them for better things and made decisions to no longer allow their wounded pasts or hurtful present conditions keep them down or defeated.

Have you fallen? Well, we’ve all failed at some point in time and learned that failure was not fatal and refused to let it be final. But the distinction is in the getting back up as you allow God’s promises and The Holy Spirit to seize, resurrect, ignite and strengthen your heart.

You first begin by understanding that Proverbs 24:16 NIV says, “For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again.” Then secondly, you recognize that Christ grants to us daily his mercy and grace. Lamentations 3:22-24 NIV says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

So today, who are God’s heroes of faith? They are the people that struggle to arise each morning to go to work and return home to provide for their families, the drug addicts who have broken free, the teenagers who live responsibly in the face of parent alcoholism, the prostitutes who have become Christian ladies, the single mothers who chose not to abort, the students that chose not to drop out, the men who’ve chosen to be responsible role models and take care of their children, the healthy spouses that love and care for their ailing or dying spouse, and the fallen, broken and now resurrected preachers who now gratefully and mightily preach Jesus Christ.

We are the forgiven and the redeemed in Christ that are setting the example for many others to follow and know that the only thing that lasts forever is, His Mercy and Wonderful Loving Grace.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

When Is God’s Grace Sufficient To Help You?

For many of us, it’s when you look around and discover there’s nothing else left but THE GRACE OF GOD.  It’s when you run out of places to turn to, people to count on and your ingenuity is all gone.

In 2nd Corinthians 12:9 God’s answer to The Apostle Paul was “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

After Paul had earnestly sought The Lord three times for a divine miraculous deliverance, God revealed that He would support him and not allow him to be destroyed by that pressing trial.  And that His Amazing Grace and Favor would be shown to him and in that GRACE he would find his ample support and strength as he continued onwards.

It doesn’t matter if Christ personally appeared to him or if he received this revelation from “the still small voice” of The Holy Spirit of God. Paul was use to communion with Christ and was accustomed to receiving revelations and answers from his prayers from The Lord.  But instead of his request being granted in the exact form in which he prayed, he received the assurance of God’s grace which was more than enough to support him in his trial.   And has since ever been a greater assurance and comfort to us on today.

While an instantaneous removal or resolve of any problem can definitely appear to be a great blessing, The Lord is more interested in maturing you in faith, building a stronger relationship with Him and training you in the area of spiritual warfare than just your mere survival or receiving a temporary blessing.   It’s through standing on His Word and depending on His Wonderful Grace that Christ has developed some of His greatest spiritual traits within our inner character.

Christianity is not “your ticket out!”  Christianity is God seeking for people that He can provide His grace, strength and wisdom through.   So, whenever there seems to be no hope, start believing that THERE’S ALWAYS HIS GRACE.

Through this passage of scripture, The Lord is revealing that so often He can’t do anything great in your life until you’ve realized that you’ve come to the end of your rope, are weak and become submissive.  It’s truly a shame that that’s when our natural minds realize the need for His divine or supernatural aid.  But, again we will rejoice in His Everlasting Love and Wonderful Grace.

So listen very carefully!  You may not be all that you think you ought to be, but thank God, you’re not what you used to be.  And if God could get you from where you were to where you now are, don’t you think He can take you from where you are now to where you should be?

I’ve personally discovered that no matter how wounded a person’s past might have been, only The Lord can impact your life and give you a promising future.  Therefore, be filled with The Holy Spirit and get your mind renewed in God’s Word and Promises.  

Don’t allow Satan to steal the Word out of your heart through the various pressures of life.  Stop feeling sorry for yourself and believe that Christ has called you to soar with the eagles instead of running with the turkeys.  Realize that Christ has called you to be an overcomer and instead of being overwhelmed.

Stop allowing previous incidents to continue to hold you hostage.  Don’t permit past rejections, needs for approval, and shame to keep you discouraged.  So, instead of breaking down, BREAKOUT AND BREAKTHROUGH by faith in Jesus Christ.

Remember, it has been said that “You don’t drown by falling into the water; you drown by staying there.”

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

How Bad Do You Really Want It?

How Great Is Your Desire To See God Move In Your Life?  The miraculous works of God are always the result of a deep, inner and insatiable desire for a change.  God isn’t moved to orchestrate in our hearts or affairs because a person quickly mumbles some “off the cuff” prayer without any thought behind it.

No, God is always moved to intervene from those who diligently, passionately, intimately and faithfully seek Him.  And this kind of prayer usually involves both sacrificial time and hard work as one seeks to pierce through their darkness, prevail through their pains and persevere right into the throne room of God’s grace.

We are given an excellent example of this in 1st Samuel 1: 9-18 in the brief story of Hannah.  Hannah was childless and couldn’t take being barren anymore, so she pleaded and poured out her soul before God.

Here In verse 11, Hannah’s prayers being mingled with tears cries out, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

Her vow here implies that he would be consecrated to the Lord from his infancy to his death, to serve him, and minister unto him in the sanctuary, fully dedicating him to the tabernacle service;  and that he should not only act as a Levite, but as a Nazarite, on whose head no razor should ever pass.

Being unwilling to let the Lord go until she received some sort of promise or satisfaction, she continued praying in her heart.  There, her distorted appearance with uplifted eyes and hands were observed by the priest, who not hearing any words but seeing her lips move, initially though she was intoxicated from wine.

Then in verses 15-16 it says, “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD.  Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”

Out of the abundance of her heart, Hannah began to vent and make known her desires to The Lord.  And the Lord remembered Hannah and gave her the power to conceive and she brought forth a son and called his name Samuel.

Let us be reminded of the promise given in Matthew 6:6 by Jesus himself, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Is there some place where you can go and have your secret devotions?  A place where you may be alone with God?  If you really need to speak with God then you will create the place and the time needed to really get before the Lord like Hannah.

There’s a reward, power and anointing that comes out of prevailing and persistent prayer that cannot be derived from anywhere else.

Remember the words from James 4:3 which declare that “You have not because you ask not or ask amiss.” When you ask, don’t ask with the wrong motives of self-indulgence or carnal gratification, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.  On some occasions you even if you do pray, you do it only that you may live in splendor to pamper your lusts.   No, always come before His presence with the right intentions and purpose of heart.

Remember, whatever’s ahead of you is never as great as the power that’s with you.  And according to His gracious promises, He will move in your life and affairs, through the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Are You Hungry For A Mighty Move Of God In Your Life?

Do you want to know more about being set free and helping others to be set free from all manner of problems, needs and from having an “empty life-style?”

While salvation is extremely important, the Bible is more than a book of salvation. It’s God’s revealed Word, written to reveal His ultimate purpose or plan for you.  And to have you know that the love, grace and power of God have all been divinely activated in our very midst through the person and authority of Jesus Christ.

Do you realize that The Lord even has a divine plan to change your circumstances as you fully turn to Him?  The following biblical story truly demonstrates that “Obedience is the key towards you experiencing any divine, gracious or miraculous intervention by Christ.”

John 2: 5-8 NIV says “His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”  Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding up to twenty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” And so they did.”

Jesus along with His disciple and Mary his mother were invited to a wedding celebration in the city of Cana.  During the feast, Mary was notified that they had run out of wine.  Knowing that this was a tremendous concern for the celebrating family because it would have led to great shame and disgrace, she made known their dire need to Jesus.

Oh, if we would only remember to do the same!  Instead of working ourselves into exhaustion, unnecessarily worrying, and becoming overwhelmed with fear and stress, we should always remember to humbly come before His Presence and spread our case before Him and then arise to follow His Command.

Don’t you realize that The Lord knows more about your situation than you do? He’s ready to reveal Himself and make known His plans, but are you completely ready “let go” and walk in His Word?   It’s now time to realize that He’s more interested in developing you and maturing you in your faith than just having you merely survive your circumstance.

Now, Jesus privately gave the command for the servants to take six water pots and fill them with water.  These six vessels were set in a convenient place, for the purpose of all that entered to wash their hands before and after eating, and were additionally used for the formal washing of vessels, and even various articles of furniture,

This was done by the servants employed at the feast. It’s of further interests that this was done by “them,” so that there wouldn’t later be an opportunity of saying that the disciples of Jesus had filled them with wine to produce the “appearance” of a miracle.

While God has your best interests in His heart, you are not the center of His attention, Christ IS.  But, as we commit ourselves to Christ and His Word and walk in obedience, then we’ll see the gracious and powerful hand of The Lord mightily moving in our lives and affairs.

Now, Christ knows what to do and who to use to get the glory.  In Exodus 7:20, in the beginning of Moses’ ministry, God used Moses, who represented The Law, to miraculously to turn water into blood.  But now, we have Jesus Christ at the beginning of His Ministry, being used to turn water into wine.  His first public miracle indeed revealed His character and His compassion toward making changes whenever we’re facing dire situations and hard times.

Strictly observing the orders from Jesus, notice that the servants believed and acted on faith and filled each water pot to the brim.  Our God IS MORE THAN ENOUGH!  Do you remember when He later feed the thousands with a few fish and pieces of bread?  After all the people had eaten, how many baskets were taken up as leftovers after the miracle?  Our Lord IS ALWAYS MORE THAN ENOUGH, but you first must be willing to follow His plan and walk in His Word.

Right now, it’s a matter of urgency for you to seek The Lord until you hear from Him and then walk in His Word.  He has a special plan along with His Word to change hearts and circumstances and bring you into a deeply personal and living relationship unto Himself.

It is far better to be involved in His service than to be merely “wandering around aimlessly” through life and just hoping that “things will fall into place” one day.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Are You Aware That God Does Some Of His Greatest Work In The Midst Of Your Darkest Hour?

Darkness – To some, it’s their natural way of life and to many others, they thrive by living in it.  But wherever darkness is, LIGHT always has the capacity of overpowering its control and maintaining its influence over it.  Therefore, LIGHT belongs in a special class of its own.

“Light” in the Bible the emblem of knowledge, purity, and truth; as “darkness” is the emblem of ignorance, error, sin, evil and wretchedness.  Light’s illuminating power and potency is only derived from The Word of God and the power of The Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus.

Genesis 1: 2-3 says, “And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light.”

Just as you start reading the Bible, you immediately come upon this TRUTH starting in Genesis, where God called into existence Light which had no previous existence in that place.  Additionally it must be further noted that this appearance of light was not due to the mere development of nature.

From this starting scripture we learn that He not only IS, but that He has a commanding presence with undeniable authority and power.  “He speaks, and it is done; He commands, and it stands fast.”  Light was called forth and overpowered the darkness, all from the creative mandate from God.  And this was the beginning of A New Creation and this work of power and grace is exactly what’s done in the heart of a person that turns to Christ today.

This LIGHT, which IS CHRIST, is still so illuminating and powerful that the message preached by the apostles was not derived from man’s human reasoning, science or from any traditions imparted from man. It was received or inspired from the very same Holy Spirit that was in the beginning.

Well, the darkness back then is the very same darkness that wants to hover over you, your family, your finances, your business or careers and your entire lives today.  But, God is the God of your BREAKTHROUGH.  FOR HE STILL CAN WONDERFULLY SAVE, DELIVER, HEAL, PROVIDE FOR, STRENGTHEN, BLESS AND GRANT VICTORY in the very midst of every hard time, adverse circumstance, negative situation, painful condition, satanic entrapment and demonic activity all through the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can never face, encounter or experience any situation that can be so dark in which Christ cannot shine forth in.  For HE IS our Bright and Morning Star, The King of Glory, The Alpha and The Omega, The First and The Last, The Beginning and The End and HE IS the remedy, cure, and solution to anything that you’re facing.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Are You Telling The Mountains Around You How Big Your God Is?

In Mark 11:23 NIV Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

The literal translation of Jesus’ words in verse 22 is to have “the faith of God” or “the God kind of faith.”  

This does NOT mean for a believer to just go around haphazardly or whimsically and start naming and claiming or blabbing and grabbing things.  This means to exercise and make use of that faith which has God for its author, which is the work of God, which can be used for His glory, and that would assist you in lifting up the name of Christ.

Faith is a free seed gift of His grace placed within the heart of every believer by Christ.  And this God given faith must continue to have pleasing Christ and doing His will as its true motive.  When believed accordingly, then faith is supported by His Power, Authority and Grace, so that whatever is being believed in your heart shall be done.

Throughout this lesson, Christ is teaching His followers to pray in faith and to believe in your heart with the understanding that ANYTHING that would try to hinder, barricade, oppose, discourage, entrap, impede or defeat the progress of furthering His Kingdom could be overcome through faith.

Through these faith encouraging and authoritative words, Christ spoke that NO OBSTACLE should be able to stand before a confiding faith in God.

Now, even more important is the portion where Jesus said “and does not doubt in their heart.”  Well, What Does It Mean “To Believe With Your Heart?”

In John 4:24 NIV Jesus said “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  When you are born-again or saved, your spirit has been made alive.  New birth occurs in your spirit.  Therefore, believing God starts in your spirit.

Believing that God hears and answers prayer begins deep down inside of you, right in your spirit.  Love, faith, deliverance, healing, guidance, assurance, forgiveness, supplied resources and victory all first begin in the spiritual realm before being made or manifested in our physical realm. You first must believe it according to God’s Word, Authority and Grace, in your spirit or in your heart.  That’s where “You know that you know.”

Just like in the story of the woman who had the issue of blood, in Matthew 9:21, “For she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”  Somehow after she had heard about Jesus she said within herself, she said within herself, she fully and firmly believed within herself that if she could just touch the hem of his garment or clothes that she would be healed.

She thought that the sickness in her frail body was of such a delicate nature that her modesty would forbid her to make any public outcry.  But being strongly impressed, influenced and encouraged by Jesus’ words and miraculous cures upon others that she said within her and followed her heart and touched Him in faith.

So faith in what she had heard caused her to act which resulted in her life and situation becoming dramatically changed.

Today, too many are just hoping for just something, anything to just happen in their circumstances.  But Christ has given us both faith to stand and faith to be productive in our lives once His Words are forged and activated in our spirit.

Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God.”  When you hear the Word of God, you’re hearing, forging, storing, and believing it deep within your spiritual man.  Then it’s from there that you’ll begin to physically and mentally act on God’s Word through faith.

Reading, studying and meditating on God’s Word and His Promises will bring conviction and assurance in your spirit.  It’s there that you’ll find rest, peace and unspeakable joy regardless of the surrounding mountains or the raging seas in your midst.  And it’s from out of your spirit that you’ll have the God kind of faith to speak and take authority over your circumstances, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.  AMEN!

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!

Did You Know That This Is God’s Plan For Your Life?

Picture yourself in this rowboat. Please notice that you have an oar to the left and an oar to the right of you. Let’s name the oar on the left as faith and the other oar as works.”

How far do you think you’d get just using one oar only?

If you use only one oar, you’ll just continue to go around in circles, never getting anywhere.  But if you use both oars, then your boat can successfully be navigated in any direction.

Therefore, one of the greatest insights for victorious Christian living is found in the book of James.  James 2:26 NASB says “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”

As the body and soul are united as one to define life within a person, so much so that faith and faithful activities or works are used to define the life of a born again and spirit filled believer in Christ.

If good works are NOT being performed, it’s clear evidence that there’s no true and proper spiritual life or faith.  For if faith produces no fruit, then it’s dead.  Now, James isn’t arguing against having real and genuine faith.  No!!!  Because all believers are justified through faith in Christ.

But, under the anointing of The Holy Spirit, James is declaring that genuine faith will always result in or be accompanied by good works.   As The Holy Spirit gives life to a believer, the love and grace of God through Christ stimulates us to walk by faith and then motivates us to righteous actions or activities.

Jesus himself declared in John 15:2, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.”

Our Lord was declaring that “Everyone that is a true follower of me, that is united to me by faith, and that truly derives grace and strength from me, as the branch does from the vine, will have The Life Of My Spirit within them, to continue doing my will just as l lived to please My Father.”

The more a believer exercises faith in Christ, the more he or she is strengthened in their belief.  The more he believes, the more he receives; and the more he receives, the more enabled he becomes in his work for God.

Obedience becomes his sheer delight, not to obtain the applause of man but to please his Lord and Savior for the love and grace shown towards him.  Then because of God’s love in his heart, he is now allowing Christ to work through him towards other men.  And this now becomes one of the main elements in which his soul lives to do.

THEREFORE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
