“What Should You Do When Your Prayers Seem Unanswered?”
When I was a young boy, I would always hear the older saints singing a song that was seemed to contradict itself. In their worship, they sang the words: “He may not come when you want Him, but He’s right on time.”

Over the many years, I’ve received divine inspiration regarding the mystery of prayer, God’s promises to His people and His wonderful assurances as we stand in faith.

For example, Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

In the Apostle Paul’s preceding prayer, he had asked for more and was even more confident that he would receive much more from The Lord because of God’s boundless and gracious mercies. Knowing what God had already done in raising Christ from the dead, Paul now knew that God’s power was beyond the infinite and His desire to impact, touch and bless our lives is even more real and abundant.

It is always a wonderful gesture to end every prayer with a doxology or gracious words of praise and thanksgiving for all God’s past, present and future blessings. Therefore, Paul began to celebrate the extensive, unmerited, and absolute power of God.

God knows what we want before we ask, He can do more than we ask, He has already made the provisions for His people before we ask, and He can even do more than we dare think, imagine, or can conceive in our minds to ask of Him.

But as believers in Christ Jesus, we have the responsibility of STANDING IN FAITH ON HIS WORD until we receive the manifestation of our prayer requests.

Despite any period of time, Standing shows patience and endurance. It is your statement of faith that you have made up your mind to continue trusting The Lord, even if the pressures still exists or even increases.

Standing means that you have set yourself to hold fast to the Word and promises of God and believe Him more than the dictates of what you are physically seeing or emotionally experiencing.

Standing reveals that you have heard the voice of The Holy spirit, received a revelation, and have the faith regardless of any adverse circumstance or negative report. Standing reveals that you know that God’s on your case, orchestrating things out for His glory, your maturity and your ultimate benefit.

It is vital to realize that because God is Spirit, it is not His nature to tip-toe around or go under things. He always breaks in, goes through or overcomes the barriers, conditions and impossibilities that you face. So, don’t allow your natural mind or earthly circumstances to contradict your faith from standing on God’s Word.

The Apostle Paul wants to encourage your heart today to not be moved by what you see or are experiencing, but be more moved by God’s love, grace and power through Jesus Christ.

For impossible situations are not impossible with God. They are challenges, which become stepping stones towards new opportunities.
